My kitten won't let me sleep

My kitten 4 months is a lovely and friendly kitty. She sleeps on my chest if i'm on the sofa and is played with by my two young children. The problem is I live on one level so the kitten goes in the kitten at night, but she meows on and off all night. We have done this set up since we got her two months ago, but it's getting worse. I've been up since 4am as it really annoys me and makes me angry that I've been woken up again that I can't drop back to sleep. If I let her roam the hall way she will just meow at my bedroom door. She has toys in the kitchen, a comfy bed, shes given some food before I go to bed too. I'm really at a loss of what to do and need some sleep.

There can be no advice without a photograph of said kitten Grin.

You can buy soft toys with heart beats for lonely baby animals.

Yes yes we need a pic!

Let her sleep on your bed. So lovely to have kitten snores next to you, and she probably put it in your contract of employment.

Aquamarine1029 · 30/09/2020 11:54

Will you not allow her to sleep in your room with you? You keep your bedroom door shut all night? It sounds as though she's unhappy being alone to me.

Kitten sleeps on your bed. If she's too small to jump up put her bed in your room.

Or let her in with your most trustworthy child.

You will not win this 😁

haha I would post a pic, but it's very outing as she's unusual. I might name change and add a pic on another thread Wink as I've used this name for more serious topics.
She's lovely, but I think she'll be licking me all night long and purring in my ear. I've only just got the youngest to stop waking me in the night as it is. I might let her go into my oldest childs room at night as shes a heavy sleeper. I do think she'll just go straight to my door and meow when she realises she's not getting any cuddles. She's the most affectionate kitten I've ever met and is extremely vocal.

You might find that she settles eventually. Cheddar was an absolute bugger at waking me up when I first got her. But now she sleeps on the other pillow and only comes for a cuddle if I'm awake. She doesn't wake me any more. And yes. Cat snoring isn't adorable. Magic does it loudly. I live knowing she's in the room with me.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/09/2020 15:30

*cat snoring, IS Adorable

We have a 16 week old kitten and he had been in our room from day one as I really regretted leaving our last kitten in the kitchen at night.

We do close the door at night to contain him and realise you may not be able to do this. The first week or so he snuggled up to us but tends to sleep under the bed now. He does sometimes wake us early though it's usually us wKing him when we go to the loo

Also OH's last shift he went down to him at 4am, but came back to bed when he left.

Lady night OH went to bed half an hour before me and I couldn't find him .... he had already gone up and was fast asleep

Toddlerteaplease · 30/09/2020 17:31

@Oldraver Cheddar always puts her self to bed around 7pm. It really makes me laugh that she does it.

BIWI · 30/09/2020 17:34

Aww - she's lonely! Let her up with you. She might purr and lick to start with, but she will go to sleep.

Another thing to consider is to give her more food when you're going to bed, so she has a nice, full tummy.

Bargebill19 · 30/09/2020 18:12

Fed her before bed and give her a nice treat. Take her to bed and put her in a nice cuddly pet bed or blanket on your bed. - should keep her quiet for a good 8 hours so long as she’s had lots of playtime in the day.

FatCatThinCat · 30/09/2020 18:15

Kitty is sad because kitty wants to be with mummy. Let her in and make sure you have a thick duvet on your bed otherwise you'll be woken when your toes get pounced on.
