Skinny rescue kitten

I'm looking for some feeding advice.

We recently rescued 2 kittens including one that was apparently the runt of the litter - he's gorgeous, friendly and eating well but is very small for his age and just not growing at the same rate as his sister who is the picture of kitten health. He has been checked by the vet who says he's fit and healthy, and he's had both vaccinations now, but has an eye infection (being treated) and is just a bit scrawny looking bless him.

Is there anything I can do to help fatten him up? He is 10 weeks and currently on Felix wet kitten food 4x a day (he was on that at the rescue centre so I haven't changed it). Should I add dry food or kitten milk? Is there a particular wet food it would be best to transition him on to?

Thanks

I would probably also leave some decent dry food down at all times - anything decent - Applaws; James Wellbeloved; Arden Grange etc etc. Would he eat more than the four pouches if they were offered? In which case offer more:)

I put dry food down last night and he wolfed a whole bowl - he's really not fussed about the wet. Thanks for the tip, hopefully this will help!

That's good. Which dry food is it?

Also there are rules here apparently ..... where’s the photo of your kittens?!

I took in a pregnant stray cat a few years ago who was really thin. When her kittens were born they were tiny. At 6.5 weeks, the vet said they were the size of 3 week olds. We kept one kitten and my Mum had two and now all three of them are larger than average cats. I would say, if he's healthy, don't worry. He's still very young at the moment, give him time and he will blossom xx

Good on you for looking after him, it sounds like he is doing well. If you want a suggestion of food that cats love, my suggestion is tuna Sheba, the blue one. Never met a rescued stray that didn't love it!

@thecatneuterer it's Lily's Kitchen kitten biscuits - they were the first oneS I grabbed in a panic, but they look pretty good - I'm happy to switch them to something else if you think it will be better?

Lily's Kitchen is a great brand. No need to change.

Such beautiful kittens OP!

They're gorgeous. I'd add a little dry food to every meal & have some out daily on top of that for snacking. Kitten Lady on You Tube has great advice on everything kitten including handrearing a newborn or nursing sick kittens.
