They need to be keeping him in if he’s poorly! Good news though.

Poor old Gary. Wonder if he has the start of feline dementia. As an aside, I love when cats have human names.

That’s easier said than done if your cat is an outdoorsy cat. Also keeping him in can seriously damage his mental health if he desperately wants to be out.

My outdoorsy boy had a very bad accident and went missing for 13 days ... he came back with a broken pelvis in 5 places. He was put under cage rest by the vet, and after a few days he just wanted to be out out out. He was allowed out of his cage for 20 minutes per day. We’d open his cage and he just went to the back door and sat and meowed, meowed, meowed. We obviously couldn’t let him out but he was very very down. When he was all healed we still were afraid to let him out so we kept him in. He then started getting bald patches on his body ... they were a result of the stress of being kept in, he was over grooming and causing his own bald patches as a result. It was awful. We reluctantly started letting him out and he returned to his normal self.

So keeping him in is not necessarily the answer.

I’m pleased he has a home, and I’m pleased he’s getting vet help. He looks a lovely old boy.

I had an old boy that had three operations in his lat year and a flea allergy. He looked a sorry sight that last year and nothing would of kept hm in. Had to rescue him from the vets a couple ot times and the crow at the back of me that used to kidnap him
