Routine vet costs - does this seem expensive?

Greater London (SW), annual check up plus booster jabs for two dcats, plus 3 month worming and flea treatments. I just got charged £210 for the lot. Jabs were £52 each, so approx £106 for the flea/worming.

I've previously been with a value vet chain so appreciate the cost will be different at an independent. However, the cost seems excessive to me - works out to over £400 a year for flea/worming for two small dcats.

Does this seem excessive to anyone else or have I just been spoilt by my previously cheap vet?

The actual checkup would cost too. I pay a monthly plan with the vet and that covers annual boosters and flea/worm treatments. Mine have flea treatments monthly and wormer every 6 months

That does sound a lot. I have the Vacs for Life scheme run by Companion Care/Pets at Home. I paid their initial vaccination cost plus £99 and now they have free vaccinations and check-ups for life.

I'm not in London, but pay £10 a month for one cat, and £6 for the other (on a discount of £50 off for the year).
That's for year round flea and worming stuff not just 3 months. As well as the vaccinations and check up etc.
The flea treatment is normally around £30 for 3 months worth so obviously it worked out better value to pay on the DD scheme monthly.

Think my monthly payment is around £13 each for the vet plan

Will take a look at Vacs for Life, thanks @Lougle

I just can't get my head around this vet charging £18 a month effectively for flea and worming. The vaccinations and health check were combined at £52 each, i just checked the bill. And honestly I don't mind paying that, doesn't seem too excessive.

They don't have a monthly plan, I asked. Think I need to find a different vet!

I also have the scheme through vets4pets/pets at home.

I called all local vets for prices on vaccs, flea treatments, neutering etc and they were by far the best price wise.

HOW MUCH FOR FLEA AND WORM TREATMENT?! Go on viovet and get Advantage flea treatment (the best stuff I've ever used and I've had cats for 30 years) go on amazon and get Dronsit worming drops (again the best stuff). Jabs and stuff I get they can be expensive but flea and worming for 100 quid a pop is crazy.
