This is Cheddar's idea of stalking a bird! I don't think he has much to worry about!

He might have been lulling the bird into a false sense of security

He would then pounce and bye bye birdie!

Don’t underestimate him Grin

DontCallMeBaby · 09/08/2020 17:04

Fiercely hunted this corn cobette. Which is already eaten Grin

Damn I want to bury my face in that floofy belly of hers!

Toddlerteaplease · 09/08/2020 17:44

@Allergictoironing this one? And some toe floofs for good measure.

Allergictoironing · 09/08/2020 18:16

Yeah, that floofy belly. But I do prefer the chocolate toe beans on my pair, which aren't floofy but are such a fantastic colour.

Toddlerteaplease · 09/08/2020 18:59

My parents big had lovely marbled toebeans

Well, she very nearly caught a bird tonight. It was a bit to quick for her!

There’s always next time. Lots of naive fledglings around now.

Confusedcatlady1 · 11/08/2020 09:10

My cat was very pleased when she gifted me a 'kill' (we had to praise her even though she'd gifted me the slice of bread I'd thrown out for the birds 😉). She's a British Shorthair and fortunately useless at hunting so I could could feed the birds without any worries. However we now have two cats that love chasing birds so our bird feeding days are long gone.

ManualFlusherSnot · 11/08/2020 09:21

My cat killed a bird a few weeks ago.
She is now really regretting it because she has to wear a really loud bell on her collar. So she has had to resort to just hunting feathers Grin

If either of them ever manage to catch anything I'll die of shock!

He must be roasting in this heat!

Toddlerteaplease · 11/08/2020 19:46

Eugh Cheddar has just bought the bird in. I nearly burned the house down! EnvyEnvyEnvy

😂

Welcome to cat ownership.

Next week;

Mice.

SerenityNowwwww · 11/08/2020 19:56

Followed by

Furballs
Vomiting in your shoes/suitcases
Peeling open your eyelids when you are asleep but they need fooooooood
Burping in your face
‘Who’s that cat over there - there - no there...’

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2020 19:59

Worktops;

Food prep area or multipurpose cat bed/vantage point, food scavenging territory.

Maybe she’ll show her sister how to Hunt too.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/08/2020 20:51

Fortunately she can't jump onto the worktops.
She vomits on my freshly washed bed sheets.
And I have rarely had an uninterrupted nights sleep since she came home. (2 years ago on the 15th!)

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 11/08/2020 20:51

Hopefully no mice. I have a rodent phobia. The bird was bad enough

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2020 21:06

Was it dead?.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/08/2020 21:09

Not quite. Probably not helped by me treading on it. It is now dead.

Harry went through a frog stage many years ago. I was getting ready for bed when I heard a funny noise in the living room and when I went to look there was a frog hopping around.

On another occasion I was in the loo and saw a huge spider in the corner. I was hoping Harry hadn't seen it but he had and chased it towards me. I leapt up and waddled out of the bathroom with my jeans around my ankles only to come across a frog bleeding out in the hall. I never did know what happened to the missing leg but I have my suspicions...

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2020 21:16

She heard you dissing her hunting skills by the looks of it.

QueenCT · 11/08/2020 21:18

Ollie has still never caught anything Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2020 21:19

Shush, he will know you’ve said that and activate his murder button.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/08/2020 21:24

I'm afraid ours are all murderous little bastards. Voles, shrews, mice and (less commonly) rats on a daily basis. Birds, bats and rabbits are occasional fare.
We generally bury the bodies at sea (throw them in the river) if they are still in one piece...
