Spayed female cat - any vets on here?

I live in Spain and at the moment we are staying with my partners family in the countryside. They have been adopted by a stray female cat (she has become fairly tame, but doesn't come in the house or let you pick her up or anything like that) and after a little persuasion by me they took her to get spayed on Tuesday. She was pregnant, so I guess the procedure was a little more complicated than normal, but all went well and she was ok.

The vets told us to clean the wound twice per day, which seemed strange as with my cats in the UK I was never told this, but they didn't give us anything to clean it with. My mother-in-law was going to clean it with alcohol, but I read on the internet that that's a massive no, also would sting the poor cat so much, so have been using saline solution and drying it afterwards. However, another vet told us to use an iodine solution, which I've also read isn't something you should use (I've attached a picture ), so wanted to get some advice on her as to is we should be using this? I've also posted a pic of the stricter incision to see if it is looking as it should after 3 days. I would appreciate any advice as some of the advice given by certain vets here is totally contradictory to advice I've been given by U.K. vets about my pets.

This is a pic of her. She's very cute and has been so good for a stray cat with the operation and being looked after since.

The incision looks fine, keep an eye on it but don't clean it as there's more risk of introducing infection or pulling the wound apart. It shouldn't discharge so there shouldn't be anything to clean.

Iodine can impair wound healing, alcohol will also impair wound healing and be incredibly painful. If you must use something saline is best but unnecessary and repeated wetting of what should be a sterile surgical site will only increase infection risks (same rationale as humans not showering their incisions after surgery).

vererinari Thank you. That's what I thought. Why do you think the vets told us to clean it twice per day? Is it because she's feral and will be going to dirty places. To be honest, since the op she has stayed in the patio area near the house chilling and we've been keeping her in an outside bathroom at nighttime (I read 72 hours with feral cats you should try to keep them in).
