This thread is for anyone who has lost a cat. It's a place for pictures and memories, to tell stories and to mourn. A cat is never, ever "Just a cat". They are special to their owners and to the people who love them and who they love in their own special way.

The Litter Tray has some lovely posters who have lost cats. I would hope that posters would respect the sentiment of this thread and use it as a place to commiserate and comfort others. Also it would be great to see photos of people's pets. There are some real characters on the Litter Tray who deserve to be remembered.

If you feel that you can't talk about your loss in real life, there will be a sympathetic ear here. Flowers

This is Ruby who left her abusive owners and adopted me (the only decent thing they gave her was her name).
She was so loving and gentle and never left me alone while i was going through depression.
But she was an adventurous girl from her early years living rough and would explore.
I lost her in September 2017 when a car hit her yards from home. She was 8.
I will never forget her x

Have you got anyone with you @Popcornismandatory?. It’s an awful way to find out.

Oldraver · 18/09/2020 11:00

Poor beuatiful Jessica Flowers

This photo of Mitzi MooMoo cane up in my time hop. He loved the boy

I remember being angry the stupid fool made it to 12 before he got run over but he was a cat that would never stay in especially at night. We lost his sister (litter mate) to renal failure six weeks later. She just went downhill after he died

My beautiful Cleo. Put to sleep 3 weeks ago aged 18. I miss her terribly and the house feels so empty without her. She was the most adorable cat

Sorry for your loss @Popcornismandatory that must be an awful shock..

My Millie died in 2018 aged 10 from sarcoma of the chest, I had her pts at home at she hated going to the vets & it was the best decision for her.
I've missed her so much.
But I adopted a new rescue cat Ebony very soon (probably too soon) after, took a while to bond but now she follows me everywhere like Millie did & is very affectionate. I still miss Millie but because I have Ebony my grief is less if that makes sense?
I even dreamed about losing Millie for the last 2 years.
I think it's so intense because I live alone, no partner or children & Millie was there as a comfort when I've been through serious mental illness.
Anyway here's a couple of pics.

My beloved Tinker, pts this morning. She was our much loved family cat, adopted from Battersea and had her home with us for 10 years. The only cat I know that was chased by a mouse! Beautiful girl, rip.

My beautiful, bold, adventurous boy was killed in a road accident three weeks ago. He was only 16 months and so full of fun. I miss him terribly. Run free Toby ❤️ You were the best kitten in the world xxx

Wonderful Bellatrix, loved her so much. She was run over this morning and died. Luckily a lovely person took her straight to the vets but I think she died on impact.

I have 2 pretty inconsolably children tonight.

Her sister Hermione seems to be ok though and not looking for her.

This is Daisy who was born in May 2000 and was therefore 20 years old. She had a stroke today and we had to have her pts. She loved the outdoors and was very affectionate. She survived us having 3 kids, a collie dog and a kitten and was always gentle. RIP Daisy - I will always miss you 🌼

Am now almost 7.5 months since saying goodbye to my soul cat and I still get completely floored on some days, I miss him so much. Not sure if I’ll be putting the tree up this year, he always thought the fluffy tree rug was out there especially for him, so think I might leave the tree until next year. Still miss you every day Mr Handsome Cat 🐾💕

If your not feeling it then don’t bother, dh put ours up last year & it was just a mockery of how we really felt.

Still miss mine too, these cats are all very lucky to have been loved so devotedly but my god does it hurt to lose them.
