Twice each..should I be calling the vets or is it just a transition thing?

1 he did scoff down half a pouch within seconds.

2 I asked what food he already had and got the same so It shouldn't be due to different food.

He seems pretty happy and has been playing and sleeping fine

Thank you all so much for your advice, he's woken the whole house with his meowing so that's fun!

Still got the squirts too bless him, will def try the little and often feeding and call a vet if it doesn't change. Poor little thing.

Don’t wait too long when they are that little. Hope it clears up soon!

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/06/2020 09:23

Sometimes it’s just stress, I’d bin the dry food off & register with a vet Monday morning.

You need insurance too. You never know what they’ll get up too.

RedScarf · 21/06/2020 19:42

Just thought I would update you all, I've been adding extra water into his wet food and he's been eating fine and today hasn't had any loose ones or been sick so I'm going to put it down to the upheaval of moving.

Still going to call vets tomorrow as would have been calling them to book appointment anyway so will mention it all and see what they say.

Thank you all for the advice and for not scalding me for taking on a kitten without being an expert!

The only way to become an expert is to get one, have problems, think WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT, and then find out why.

Is he now the most important person in the house?.

RedScarf · 21/06/2020 21:32

Oh OP he's gorgeous!

My boy had a terrible reaction to his first worming (without going into too much detail we ended up having to repaint a wall 🤢) but just saw he was wormed quite some time ago.

Definitely worth a little trip to the vet

RedScarf · 21/06/2020 21:48

I don't think I want to know the details!! 🤢

Cute kitten ❤️

Depending on litter size it can also take a while for the kitten to 'settle' around eating alone, without feeling the need to scoff before it all goes into the littermates bellies.
Feeding a litter of kittens is like meal time at a public school or training barracks, lots of frenzy and shoving too much food down at once, regardless of how much food there is put down or how many bowls it's in, they will inevitably want the first one put down and it can take a few days to lose that frenzied approach.

The new kitty may just have scoffed too much too quickly causing the spewing.
The poo is something to keep a closer eye on.

Glad things have settled--he is gorgeous.
Don't feel bad for asking. I had a cat for 21 years who died 4 years ago. I then adopted a mummy and kitten last year and started learning all over again.
Kitten had a runny bottom and pancaur helped massively.
