Why has my neutered cat starting humping everything??

Sorry, couldn’t think of how best to explain.

SnoreCat is possibly 2 yrs old. We have had him a year and a few months. He came to us as a rescue of unknown age, but possibly 11 months max. He had been neutered by the CP at around 8/9 months. Hard to know his true age as I have it recorded very differently on various paperwork I got with him. My vet thought no more than 11 months when I took him to be registered with them.

He’s has a terrible start in life, but lives in luxury with plenty of love now. Recently he’s been kneading on the bed and I was overjoyed as I didn’t think I’d ever see him relax so much and look so happy. But....this kneading has turned into something else. He gathers our bedding, clothes, towels whatever he can find to enthusiastically mate with. Our small DS is asking why he looks like he is going to wee on the bed.

Is this normal??? Why has he suddenly started this? I’m wondering if he has been properly neutered. My previous Male cat was neutered when he was a little kitten and didn’t have anything left. SnoreCat definitely has something there.

There have been a lot of threads on here about neutered male cats humping things. I have a neutered male that dry humps the neutered female he's in love with numerous times a day. The neighbours have named him Catsanova.

Lots and lots of males like to hump fluffy blankets it seems. I've had a few of those too. It seems to be just one of those things.

Thank you, I haven’t seen any. I’ll have a look.

He was humping my pjs. He was sniffing them and then suddenly.....

He is scared of fluffy blankets, part of his past trauma so they are safe. I used to have a neutered dog who did this, all the time. Also random dogs in the park, he’d jump on board. It was embarrassing and got worse as he got older. I’d have thought cats were above that sort of thing!
