Lifetime cat insurance

I currently have a months free PetPlan insurance and looking into sorting insurance for after this. There are so many to choose from though! I was thinking of a lifetime policy with PetPlan but they seem quite expensive in comparison to others so not sure now.

Can anyone recommend some good insurance and how much should you have e.g. £5000/£7000 etc. I know this very much depends on what treatment is needed but what's the 'normal' level people pay for please? Thank you

Lifetime is necessary as the vast majority of claims are for chronic conditions like Diabetes, arthritis etc.
I would ensure for £7000 a bog standard fracture fixation with one nights hospitalisation for one of my patients at a referral hospital cost 4K last month plus £500 for our out of hours exam, xrays and pain relief.

I would definitely go lifetime. That way you have peace of mind if they develop a long term condition. I’ve had it and will do it again when the time comes. They’ve always been great at paying out too, never had a problem with them.

Petplan aren't the cheapest but they are efficient. A lot of vets (not all) will claim directly from them so you don't have to wait for the pay out.
Our lad ran up a £2.5k bill last summer-he was in hospital for 3 days, blood tests, scans, treatment and medication. We have the £7k limit but I may look into upping it.
Our old cat ran up bills of around £10k one summer-this was mostly two stays and surgery at a referral practice.

Bought by Many is good and more reasonably priced than Petplan
