Normally I’d just go straight to the vet but with COVID and everything I’m a bit wary of making an unnecessary trip. My cat is about 7 and perfectly healthy (perhaps a little on the fat side). I noticed yesterday morning that she’d been sick twice and there was lots of grass in her sick so put it down to that. However, she was sick twice more when she was outside in the afternoon but seemed ok otherwise.
Then, about 11pm, after spending all evening upstairs (rare for her-she loves to be with us usually) she was sick twice more and, as I went to check in her, she panicked and jumped in my husband’s box of computer equipment (obviously knew she wouldn’t make it to the litter tray) and exploded diarrhoea everywhere! She was really unsettled, panting a little and crying like she was in pain when I lifted her. I left her downstairs with water and no food in the hope she’d settle.
Came down about 5am and she seems a lot brighter in herself. Purring, running to the door to greet me and she even managed to nibble a few biscuits (won’t have water though) but is still clearly not 100% as she was twitchy for a good 10-15 mins after. She’s had a little nap and is now awake but settled on me, purring. She does keep farting the smelliest farts/licking her bum and isn’t very vocal which is unusual as she’s extremely chatty (bossy) normally.
So, she does seem better, but still not ‘right’. Would you put it down to a stomach upset, something she ate, or take her to the vets?
