Crows divebombing

As the title suggests, we're having a big problem with crows dive bombing our cat. They've spent the last couple of years cawing at him from the fence/trampoline/roof where he would happily just lie there not giving a shit but the last couple of months they've started dive bombing him constantly.

I know it's nesting season and we back onto woods so maybe just overprotective crows but damn I'm feeling overprotective of my cat.

He has safe spots he can hide if needed and we go chase them away/bring him in if we hear them shouting at him. Is there anything else we can do?

Oh no. Poor cat. As you say it's probably because of nesting season. I'm afraid I have no advice I can offer. How does he react when it happens?

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/05/2020 21:25

It used 5o happen to my Persian, he’d run for cover.

Yes I this happen years ago to my old cat, they were very aggressive.

I've got more crows coming to feed from the bird seed I put out in my garden since lockdown. I'm wondering if it's because there's less pickings in town and less road kill due to fewer vehicles on the roads?

Keep an eye on him TheCanyon, as they might gang up on the poor little soul.

Poor little kitty!
Crows are ruthless....they have even scared off 6 hawks from my neighbourhood and torn the hawks nests to bitsShock.
They aren't afraid of anything. I watched an aerial row between a raven and a crow....the crow would turn his feet toward the raven whilst mid-flight as if to grab it....very eye opening to watch such aggressive behaviour.

Little cat wouldn't stand a chance if big bad crow decided to attack.

My genius DH Hmm suggested a SCARECROW 😂 These mean crows around here would have that scarecrow torn to bits in no time flat.
I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions for protecting kitty, though...... a flock of crows is actually termed a MURDER OF CROWS for good reason!Shock

@sissymate I see the crowd round our way tormenting Red Kites who just seem passive and squawk as they're being harassed

Two canes, string between them like a washing line, hang old CDs off it, set up over your cats favourite spot.

Might work?

It's the magpies round here that are the bastards, crows pretty much keep themselves to themselves 🤷🏼‍♀️
