Cats - should they be allowed to roam? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pets/3889054-Cats-should-they-be-allowed-to-roam

I seem to be the only disputer so far.

I agree they should roam if they want

My cats do although don't seem to go far and the only local wildlife that gets caught is rats 🐀- pretty sure no one would complain about that

They've never consciously caught a bird and 2 of my cats run in the opposite direction of anything that moves and prefer to eat at the local pub!

Mine got run over last year so I’m pro-catproof garden now. This is the safest road we thought he was savvy but there’s someone with an electric car and dh said when it passes you it’s very quiet.

I would never say indoor only unless the cat had voted with its paws itself.

Mine are happy indoor cats. They go into mine and next doors garden, but aren't really bothered a

That must be a follow up to the "To not really understand why people are OK with cats" thread - which I've posted on. Don't think I can cope with another full thread on how revolting cats are, how the world would be a better place if they were all wiped out etc Sad

Do feel free to quote from my post on the thread I mentioned regarding cats having only been domesticated around 4,000 years (as opposed to dogs at least 18,000 years).

Since the trauma last week Haribo is on house arrest but is going for sniffs around the garden on a harness and lead. He's not too bothered because I've kept him in 3 days a week when I work long days anyway and inside if I went out for any length of time.
