We are adopting a brother/sister pair of kittens in about 6 weeks time. We’ve never had cats before so I’d love some input on what to buy!
I’d rather buy something more expensive that works great first time around than trial and error too much.
We live off shore and our local selection of things can be limited, so things I can buy on amazon would probably be easiest.

The kitten will come to us having been fed royal Canin mother and baby. What should I buy when they outgrow it?

Cat litter- I’ve been looking at “worlds best cat litter” as it’s got very good reviews?

Litter box?

Cat bed?

Scratching post?

Easy to clean food dishes?

Are the electric water bowls worth it?

Is there a collapsible cat carrier I could buy (trying to save space as it won’t be used much)

Some sort of spray that neutralises little accident smells?

Good collars?

Thank you so much in advance!

Don’t bother with cat beds - they’re largely ignored. There’s a reverse correlation between how much you spend and how much interest will be shown in it...

We have a water fountain and a normal water bowl - both are used regularly. One thing to know is not to put their water near their food bowl as they don’t like to drink water near their food!

A laser pointer is worth buying too. Smile

Cat tree is a must for my cats.
They love toys too - wand/fishing rod type toys and balls are their favourites. Loads of cheap ones on Amazon.
I use the wood pellet litter and have a garden sieve that makes cleaning very quick and easy. And a scoop for the poo.
Scratch posts or pads.
If you have neighbourhood cats then make sure the catflap you get responds to their microchip. Though they won't be going out for a while yet.
Mine have loved several of the beds we have had, especially the igloo type when they were very little.

OP - you've had lots of good advice here.
The very best was from YesItsMeIDontCare.

I also recommend a regular supply of cardboard boxes - preferably slightly too small for the cats.

Please don't put collars on them. Soooo dangerous, especially when they are kittens and will be doing a lot of rough and tumble together. One of mine years ago somehow got his caught around his mouth and paw. Horrible cut as we were at work at the time so he was like that all day.

You actually NEED very little: a food bowl, a water bowl, a litter tray (can be a cheap plastic open tray), some cat litter. That's it.

It's nice to have:
a cat bed (my current cats love their big dog bed which we bought for £2 at a village fete, but previous cats have turned their nose up at any sort of bed)
a scratching post - they will love this and use it, although it doesn't guarantee they won't also have a go at your sofa
a luxury covered litter tray
premium cat litter (most cats are not that fussy, mine have always used whatever was cheapest in the supermarket that week)
cat toys - especially those fake birds on the end of a fishing rod
collars - these are controversial but we've always put collars on our cats with tags with our address and mobile phone number, and a tracker for the adventurous one
water bowl which is transparent perspex - this made a huge difference to one of our cats who wasn't drinking enough water, and also putting it some distance away from the food bowl (apparently in the wild they won't drink near the meat they have killed as it would be contaminated)
