How can I stop my cat using the litter tray

I have two cats, one hardly goes outside and one is constantly coming and going. I’d really love for her at least, to stop using the litter tray....the strange thing with her is, she has a preferred spot in my flower beds where she goes for her morning poo without fail, even in the pouring rain. However when it comes to peeing she insists on doing that in the litter tray. Is there any way of getting her to do all of her business outside? My other cat has shown zero interest in moving from the litter tray to outside so I’d be reluctant to move the tray outside altogether. Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

I wouldn’t bother really. Where’s the benefit to any of you?.

As they get older they might decide en-suite facilities are essential. None of us would want to go outside to wee in the winter.

Outdoor kitchens might be a thing but no ones ever managed to make outside toilets fashionable again.

I'd wouldn't get rid of it either.

You can't and cats should always have access to a litter tray. It's also very useful to spot signs of illness.

Mine mostly do the toilet outside but we still have a tray for the odd time its required

I think all responsible cat owners should have a litter tray. It can help you spot changes in toilet habits which can be a sign of illness. Plus, if cats go outside, there's no guarantee that they will only use your garden as a toilet.
