Cats in my garden

Hello!
I have a lovely cat called Mooshie, she is a delicious little squish.
She goes out into our back garden, but doesn't wander off etc. She doesn't have a flap and we generally know where she is.

Recently 2 cats have been coming to our garden every day, I think they are both female as one has a female name and they are both quite small.
Mooshie isn't comfortable with them, and will hiss if they get too close. But they still
Come every day - lay around in the garden, play together and even try to get into the house.

What do they want?!
Initially it thought maybe they could be friends with Mooshie. I don't think these two cats live together, as one has a collar and the other doesn't.

Today one of them peed in the garden - which I think is v unreasonable to pee in another cats territory!

Should I shoo them away? What do they want?

Attached pic of Mooshie, and the two cats, just because

Surprised your cat isn't chasing them off! Is she not very territorial? Mine goes beserk if a certain cat comes onto the fence. Apart from the time she brought a 'friend' home for tea and they sat together under the dining table which was a little odd. I expect their aim is to claim your garden for their own if there's no resistance. Lovely cat by the way

I’d shoo them off, sounds like a land grab.

Might just be nosey little buggers. We get loads of different cats in the garden on a daily basis, i personally wouldn't worry about a cat weeing but if your cat feels a little threatened then maybe shoo them off! Lovely pics!

They are exploring now the weather is better. Leave them to it - unless a fur fight breaks out when you might want to step in. But cats mostly sort themselves out imo. Plus having "enemies" adds zest and interest to life for mammals I think. As long as your cat (nice sofa, I have that one) is happy around you in the house then all is well!

They are cats, and they're doing cat things. Claiming territory, and doing so by weeing is normal cat behaviour. They don't care about which human owns what, why would they? They don't see your garden as Mooshie's space. It's just space.

Totally natural.

Vinorosso74 · 08/04/2020 20:14

Maybe keep a close watch on things. See how your cat is and if necessary chase them off. It could just be nosey neighbours.
Our lad has one arch enemy (both are neutered) who he will fight with if he dares come anywhere near our garden. However, he gets on with all the unneutered tom cats which are around one especially comes around to see him and they kind of get along then ours gives him a slap once he's had enough.
Our last cat was female and so laid back she never fought but would just lie in the way of another cats route or pretend she hadn't seen the other cat.
