Fleas - help!!!

Our cat had fleas when we first got her last year. Initially I used frontline and then switched to a vet prescribed flea treatment that we get monthly. This seems to have treated the cat. I now need to treat the home but I really don't want to use chemicals as I have two little ones and we can't leave the house for any great length of time for obvious reasons.

We have a mix of carpets and hard floors. I've been washing all bedding at 60. I steamed the sofa and hard floors and have been vacuuming regularly. This morning I put salt everywhere and will leave it there for a couple days before vacuuming

If anyone has any tips or anything that worked for them please let me know!! I hadn't previously actually seen the fleas, just been bitten. However for three days in a row I have actually seen them!!

Our lovely cat is a keen hunter and has long grass beyond our garden to explore and this seems to be the culprit.

They'll be in the sofa & mattress & the tiny nooks & cracks under your skirting boards (what professional pest controller told me when I got advice) so vacumning won't help. Indorex with windows open for 2hours re any fumes & it'll be fine. Also make sure to spray underneath everything.

We had a very bad flea infestation a few years ago (due to the bloody vet stopping selling Advocate and recommending Frontline instead).
Indorex was the only thing that worked - had to do the house twice.

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats I wanted advocate and they recommended bravecto! Not sure on its efficacy tbh

I think the spray is your best option. You could do one room at a time.

You will get rid of them. We had similar problem when adopted a cat from CPL, was riddled in fleas, but because they said they had used flea treatment on her, we had to wait 4 weeks ! Was a nightmare, but we're all flea free now. You will get there.

@Mitzdob I was in a similar position! Used frontline, realised it didn't work but had to wait to apply a different one! Will need to get my hands on some of that spray. I'm kind of hoping they'll all perish before I get it but doesn't look likely
