She's 16. Have no intention of putting her through painful surgery, vet agreed she may not survive it.

Apparently she has a few months.

She's on painkillers and antibiotics. She has a hot water bottle and nice food.

It's still sinking in. Just wanted to write it down somewhere.

I love her. She gives proper kisses and everything.

Oh I'm so sorry - sending lots and lots of hugs for you and strokes for her x

So sorry to hear your girl isn't well. You'll do the right thing by her, guided by your vet. She is loved by you and that's what matters most.

I have been in the same position as you.

She sounds lovely. Of course you love her and of course you're upset. She's a member of your family. I'm so sorry. The next few months will be hard (we had to PTS our 20 year old boy because of kidney failure a few weeks ago and his brother still can't settle) but till then, you are doing everything you can to keep her feeling happy and warm and loved. 💐

I feel for you. I lost my precious kitty a few months ago.

The best thing you can do for her now is to let her go sooner rather than later. Remember, cats have no sense of tomorrow. They live in the moment. They do not have a bucket list of things they want to do.

She has had 16 years of a good feline life. Spend a little time getting used to the idea of her leaving you and make peace with this. Then let her go.

I had a palliative care vet come to our house to put my precious kitty to sleep. Expensive, but so worth it - for everyone. She fell asleep in my arms, in front of the fireplace. And we buried her in our garden soon after. I wish I could go like her when my time comes.

My cat had a huge mammary tumour removed at 15, and lived till 19. She recovered very slowly and I swore it took a piece of her personality too but I'm grateful for the extra 4 years we had with her. Best wishes for whatever you decide
