Blood in wee

Hi there, my cat (6) has been wailing to outside a lot, and has been in and out for a couple of days (can't use catflap).
I put litter tray down, that she hasnt used since we got her a year ago. She has wee-d several times, and it has blood in it.
Do you reckon this is like cystitis in humans.
I am going to ring vet tomorrow but cant take her until Tues.
Thanks

You need to take her before Tuesday. Yes it probably is cystitis, and not only is it incredibly painful, if it's got to the stage of there being blood in it then it's dangerous. You will need an out of hours appointment. Preferably today.

And don't let her out.

I know and want to but where do you take them on a Sunday?

Your vet will have 24 hour cover. Phone - there should be an answerphone message with the emergency number.

This happened to my cat, it was a urine infection (so yes, like cat cystitis) and she just had a course of antibiotics and was fine after that.

It was a weekend and I googled emergency/24 hour vets and took her to one nearby, it doesn't have to be your regular vet.

Hope it all goes well :)

The important thing is that she's urinating. If her bladder becomes blocked it's a real emergency.
She needs to be seen today it first thing tomorrow

Thank you everyone, she has been sleeping so can't be that uncomfortable..it also costs £100 if I go this eve, so am ringing them when they open at 8am tomorrow. Will let you know. Hoping they dont give her tablets as I cant give them to her, she goes crazy!!

She's had an antibiotic injection this morning and painkiller injection, so hopefully the discomfort will start to subside soon. Still not drinking much though, poor thing just not herself.
Thank you for the advice everyone xx

Try the cystease capsules by feliway for a few weeks, it really helped mine. I emptied them into her wet food.

Great to know that, thank you!
