Making my garden secure for my cats

I am moving within the next month to and end terrace which is next to a busy road. It has a big enough back garden for the cats but i would like to make it secure so they cant go on the main road and

From what i can see of the new house the other neighbours are all friendly with each other ( block of 4 ) and share some sort of large vegetable garden. ( All the gardens have 2 gardens with a gap between for bin lorrys, they have turned 1 of their gardens into a giant vegetable garden ) I can see they have took great steps to keep it secure as they have mesh and chicken wire covering them all, they are all a lot older than me and DP too and 2 of them have dogs

Ideally i wouldnt of chosen the house but we are in temporary accomidation and cannot refuse any permenant accomidation we are offered.

So all i can do is make my garden secure enough so that the cats cannot escape and get run over and cannot go into the neighbours garden and shitting on their vegetables or their gardens

How can i make my garden so the cats cannot leave Blush i feel bad im going to have to do this but rathar that them then getting run over or ruining the neighbours vegetables and flowers Blush

You can buy dog runs online. Build it so it attaches to the house and you can have the back door open that way.

If you have solid fences, you can use a fence top catproofing system. Look up ProtectaPet, Sanctuary SOS, Felisafe...

If not, then a catio that's completely enclosed would probably be easiest, right up against the back door.
