Scoop free litter tray

Hi all

Does anyone have one of these?

I've just seen it on argos and it's £120! But it has a like rake that takes the poo and wee away into a smaller waste bit. Then when it's full you just replace the tray. Three trays are £50 and they say 1 tray lasts a month.

We spent £20 on litter a month so in the long run it is cheaper. Very expensive outlay though.

Never having to scoop cat poo though, I'm definitely interested.

Has anyone got one they could tell me what it's actually like and if it's worth the money?

TIA Grin

£100 here

Says soft poo might stick to the rake Envy - not envy

Toddlerteaplease · 24/01/2020 06:42

I saw one at the supreme show. It looked like a washing machine. It was huge. I'd love one. But cheddar's poo would stick to the rakes. 🤢

Barbthebuilder · 24/01/2020 06:59

We've got one, but the thought of throwing away the tray every time was so wasteful, so we have a plastic tray we empty and reuse. It's a pain in the arse to be frank. Soft poo sticks to the rake bit, and it needs cleaning every 5 or 6 uses, so once a week or so in our house as the cats mostly go outside. And it's so huge! I wish we hadn't bothered!

Thanks for the feedback.

I think cleaning the rake would make me Envy more than scooping.

There's woodland outside my back garden. Loads of it. But no, they come home to use the toilet 🤦🏽‍♀️

I bought one. My cats did the "have you completely lost your mind, slave?" look and started pooing in the corner. They have never used it. Old litter trays are back down.

Ok - thanks for the advice. I was hoping for never scooping again for that price.

Do you think it's worth the money?

How does it get the wee out?

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 24/01/2020 19:51

I assume the fact you cant remove the pee is why you need to replace the litter tray regularly

TheQueenBeyondTheWall · 24/01/2020 20:05

I'm not sure. On the q and a on Argos it says "the urine will agglomerate in the litter and the tray will remove it"

I'm not sure what that means?

Crystal litter just absorbs moisture so the litter will just get more and more urine infested. It moves solid waste not pee. Theres a wee video on the link I posted earler

TheQueenBeyondTheWall · 24/01/2020 20:15

Thank you. I didn't realise that the link had a video! I was just going to use it to get if for £100 if I bought it. Will watch the video now.

I wonder if I get a plastic tray and use my own clumping litter will it then take the wee away?

What do you think?

I obviously have nothing else to think about on a Friday night 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

I looked at that tray but wasn’t sure about it so went for a mod cat tray.

I am currently using this litter which is the best one I have used since trying umpteen brands since November.

Barbthebuilder · 25/01/2020 10:09

We use clumping litter with ours, but I find it doesn't clump well enough to be raked and then falls apart. In fact the more I think about it the more I am wondering why I don't just throw the bloody thing away.
