So here they are! We brought them home approximately 3 hours ago and, after a good explore of the room they are predictably hiding behind the sofa.

Mother cat aged 4 is all-black and dainty, green eyes and incredibly inquisitive. She's been on work surfaces, behind the fridge, nosing in corners and eyed up the washing machine (door firmly shut).

Son is 3, bigger. Almost all black with a very small white spot on his chest. More timid though we are assured he's actually the pushier one for attention dreamies

Currently have terrible names so we need some inspiration please.

If you like Toto, what about Dorothy and Toto?

StrawberryFizz26 · 20/01/2020 07:44

They are both beautiful, getting my 2 rescue cats was the best thing I ever did.

They are both really beautiful! Great job for rescuing them. I think they deserve a Hollywood Golden Age name. How about Monty and Libby? (Montgomery Clift and Libby Holman)

Mildmanneredmum · 20/01/2020 17:25

This is a wonderful thread for me! Due to pick up my two older rescue kittens on Thursday, who are called Bubble and Squeak, which I quite like! Also a slightly older cat that no-one wants because she "mouths", which I don't mind at all. All from Cats' Protection.

DD suggests Monty and Seren.

They are lovely! So pleased you got them. Sorry but I'm not feeling very inspired on the name front. Ours still has the slightly festive name he was given by the vet or CP branch. I wanted to change his name but was vetoed by DP and DD.

These are all fantastic names and, had the boys not been helping, I might have gone with some of the more literary ones.

Anyway, after much debate and narrowing down, I can confirm their names as

Phoebe and Toto.

Phoebe is a dainty little thing who has shown great enterprise in getting stuck in small spaces. She's explored the food cupboard, recycling cupboard, dishwasher and is eager to see what's on the other side of the kitchen door.

Toto was actually named by Ds2 after Toto the Ninja cat (who's a girl but who's checking). He is very food driven and has been expelled from the kitchen counters several times and I found him nose-deep in the empty tuna pasta bowl by the sink earlier Smile.

Safe to say nothing and nowhere is safe from prying black panther eyes now...

Those are excellent names and have the advantage of no 'sss' sounds, which some cats hate.

Beautiful panthers you have there.

Ha! That's how I think of mine, who looks very similar to yours. That black cat panther stare is irresistible ....
