Do any of you use some sort of pet health pay monthly scheme at your vets?

I have three cats and want prescription strength wormer and flea treatment each month as opposed to the Pets at home stuff we've been using up until now.

My vets offer a scheme which costs £13 per month for each cat which includes monthly flea and worm treatment along with 2x health checks each year, 2x nail clippings and 2x anal gland expression per year. Also includes annual booster jab and small discount off any dental treatment. Comes with other benefits too which I wouldn't need to utilise as already done such as reduced neutering and microchipping.

It works out quite costly per month for all 3 but the vet worked out it's only slightly more than what I'd pay for flea/worm treatment and booster jab individually.

Just wondering if any of you use similar and think it's worth it? I also asked my vet to just write me a repeat prescription so I can buy the flea and worm treatment online but she was reluctant without me paying to bring my cats in for regular check ups in case the prescription strength needs changing or the treatment needs altered in any other way. Hmm

We do, for 2 DCats, but started when they were 8 weeks old so got the discount off neutering and micro chipping. It also gets us a discount when we buy the special very food they love!

I like it that it spreads the cost over the year, but we could afford the cats either way.

I have one for my two. It was good when it was £9.99 a month but then it went up to £12.99. I don't de flea mine monthly anyway. So I'm not sure it's worth it. I've been considering cancelling one and sharing the flea treatments.

We do and it works well. We get a free health check every 6 months, flea and worm treatments, all vaccination boosters and 10% off any treatment or food etc.

I do, and it works out equal for the healthy middle-aged cat, but saved quite a bit on the poor old man who had lots of vet trips, prescriptions and special food.

I don't. I only tend to flea treat the cats in summer so it would never be worthwhile for me.

I've also noticed that some of these offers now include a 6 monthly checkup - I can see no reason to take a happy cat to the vet every six months - so I would see that as a 'benefit with no benefit'.

Just signed our two new babies up for this at £9.99 each. It means I will keep up injections and flea treatments etc.

I don't. It wasn't worth it as it didn't include the flea or worm treatment I use and, like Grumpy, I don't take Harry for regular check ups. He goes annually for his jabs and in between if we think he needs it.
