Just checking itโ€™s normal Xmas Grin

Honestly driving me insane ๐Ÿ˜‚ every hour or so she will run around but jump onto sofas, run over them, scratch us, attack our feet etc lol.

Itโ€™s all cute until she catches you and scratches you ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m guessing itโ€™s the zoomies? Sheโ€™s so bloody fast lol

Have a 10 month Maine Coon and he still does this. Try chasing her. Ours loves a game of chase.

Foxton20 · 02/01/2020 07:59

Ahh never done that! Will do! She normally likes chasing her da bird lol

My 20 yr old still does house zoomies, at 4.30 am they rendezvous on the landing and make chaos with the youngsters.

Foxton20 · 02/01/2020 08:05

Aww do they! This doesnโ€™t seem to be at night (although she sleeps in the kitchen so Iโ€™m guessing thatโ€™s why?!)

Most of my cats have done this. We called it their crazy half hour.

violetbunny · 02/01/2020 09:16

I could have sworn we adopted 2 kittens instead of the feral flying squirrels who appeared to be inhabiting our house GrinGrin Our curtains are ruined! At least they're a little older now so not quite as crazy....

Toddlerteaplease · 02/01/2020 12:36

When my 9 year old lazy Persian gets the zoomies. It sounds like a heard of elephants on the move. I have no idea how one 4.5kg cat can sound like a full grown adult human walking around!

iklboo · 02/01/2020 12:38

Ours are 11 and still get the zoomies

GuppytheCat · 02/01/2020 20:06

Our older cat galumphs round the house at about 11:30 every night. You'd think she was old enough to know better.

Fozzleyplum · 02/01/2020 20:07

Ahem! Photo please OP. Them's the rules.

Veterinari · 02/01/2020 20:10

My two year old cat still does Xmas Grin

Fozzleyplum · 02/01/2020 20:10

In our house, it's known as "going crackermog".

slipperywhensparticus · 02/01/2020 20:11

We call it yowl o'clock

Alvertan · 02/01/2020 20:15

We call in โ€˜being on manoeuvresโ€™....

TroysMammy · 02/01/2020 21:16

Haribo is 6 months old and goes mental at approximately 9.30-9.45 am and pm. I can now see him starting to twitch on his cat platform, getting ready for his internal alarm clock to go off.

goldenorbspider · 02/01/2020 21:18

Yea mad half hour post naps

Right on cue Haribo has just got down from his platform. Hold onto your hats.

percheron67 · 02/01/2020 21:41

My cat, part Bengal, did this until she was around 1. She careered up the chimney (fire not alight!) one evening. No harm done.

gingerfreckles · 03/01/2020 00:12

@foxton20 how gorgeous ๐Ÿ˜ป

Boristhecats · 03/01/2020 07:19

Mine is 11. Does the zoomies once a day. Doesnโ€™t move much the rest of the time Grin

Foxton20 · 03/01/2020 07:56

Right so last night I tried to let her sleep with me and kept the door open. she sleeps in the kitchen normally which she has done since we got her.

But I thought maybe that is contributing to the hyper ness in the morning, that she canโ€™t run around like a mad head.

All downstairs is open with the stairs in the living room so she canโ€™t just have downstairs.

Anyway, 1am comes and sheโ€™s meowing crazily! And chrriping. Then it starts. She runs around crazy, catching her tail on the bed, attacking my feet ect.

I ended up taking her downstairs ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

How the hell do people do it?!

My lad doesn't do zoomies, however he does let a herd of hippos on roller skates in every night. Sounds like it.

BobbyBlueCat · 03/01/2020 08:05

It's nothing to do with kittenness and all to do with felineness. Most of them do it. For life.
You're going to have these crazy daily sessions for the cutestuff's entire life so you better get used to it!

Allergictoironing · 03/01/2020 10:16

Doesn't matter what time I go to bed, mine do their zoomies about 10 mins after the lights go off. And you think one is bad? Try 2 chasing each other Shock
