Only DS eats meat in our house (well of course the cats do ) so I have bought him a pack of chicken to roast . Just plain, no flavouring or crumbs .

I read they can eat raw (because they're cats ) but people bribe with rotisserie chicken .

My cats are very judgey about the raw food I bought from the vet (frozen )

So - raw or cooked ?

What does everyone try for their cats ?

(They're adult and wormed . First Christmas with us )

Some of mine like raw - but lots don't (but apparently you can only give raw if it's previously been frozen for at least 48 hrs to kill something - I've forgotten what), some of mine like boiled - but lots don't and none of them like it that much. Most of them like shop bought roast. All of them go mad for rotisserie and Kentucky style fried.

Raw, with a view of being cooked and fed to humans, is different to raw, not to be cooked and safe for pets to eat. Our vet has seen a lot of pets who have been fed raw when someone has just picked up meat from the butchers or supermarket. If you have just picked a chicken up for DS and plan to roast it for him, just give the cats some of the leftovers as a treat.

My late beloved cat loved roast chicken scraps, as does the vagrant kitty who pops by every so often when he smells roast chicken

I’d cook it, it’s not been prepared for raw feeding.

Thank You - it is in the freezer at the moment , to be defrosted then roasted .

I'll cook it all (it's chicken pieces not a large amount but enough for DS and to share with the felines )

My DS works in the KFC part time , I am not encouraging a fried chicken habit for them, they won't fit through the cat door Shock . I'll tell him he isn't allowed to bring any home Xmas Grin

They had the chicken yesterday , they weren't exactly clamouring but female cat ate hers first then male cat wandered over later .

They do seem to prefer fish , maybe that's why they were Hmm at the raw food (frozen , from the Vet) it's chicken.

If I give them a tin of tuna in spring water they're over me like a cheap suit Grin

They could be fish cats, our cat hated fish. We took a doggy bag home from a restaurant with haddock from dhs fish & chips & he flicked it all over the kitchen.
