Kitten biting literally everything πŸ˜‚

Kitten is 16 weeks. She’s amazing apart from the crazy biting that has just started πŸ˜‚ she will literally run around biting anything, sofa arm, she will run at you and try and bite πŸ˜‚

I’m guessing she’s teething. What can I do to help her?

I have one the same age, I hiss at him when it all gets too much - it works, he stops ... until the next time.

Has she had all her injections yet? Do you have a safe, enclosed garden? If the answer two these questions is yes, try taking her outside to run off a bit of energy and hone her hunting instincts on fallen leaves. Do this when it's light, though, so she doesn't get lost, and pick a mild day.

You can also get cat teasers - a little feathery toy on a string that dangles from a rod (like a small fishing rod). You hold the rod and twitch the toy around for her to chase.

Ping pong balls are great if you have hard floors.

She’s teething, try and find chewy toys for her to bite in.

She has been carrying her little teddy toy around constantly.

We have β€œda bird” that she loves!

She’s desperate to go ourside. It’s enclosed with 6ft fences/wall but I’m worried she will get over? She keeps stepping out when I pop out to the bin and then runs back in πŸ˜‚

6fts nothing when you’ve got claws though. 4 months is way too young to be outside.

I think 4 months is OK, with supervision.

Surely she should be spayed before going outside?

Mine is a boy, same age. I won’t be letting him out before he is neutered. Even after that the days are currently so short and I would hate him to go out and not come back before I go to work that I will probably keep him in for two or three months yet.

Foxton20 · 28/11/2019 07:33

She’s not going out until she’s spayed. She’s being done mid jan. I’m too scared for her to go out, she’s so tiny still!

When mine are little I do a high pitched squeal if they nip me trying to imitate the noise a litter mate would make if they'd gone too far in play. I've always found that this works well

Hissing really works (I have a thread that follows a similar theme.....).
