How do you ditch yours? We've started using these litter pellets, as that is what the rescue was using.

Scoop into dog poo bag and put in the bin (I use clumping litter though). When changing the tray, pour into bin bag and put in general waste bin (with clumping litter you dont need to fully empty as often as non clumping)

Exactly the same as Demented.

Same as above here too.

Our cats have Cats Best and YY , the wee clumps into a little ball . The solid just scoops out , so minimal waste.

I have just treated the felines to one of those double layer mats ( it has a mesh upper for litter to go into and opens like a pouch)
Hopefully it'll stop the tracking.

And hopefully the cats won't refuse to engage in "anything new that they weren't consulted on" Grin

I've got one of those mats. They are food. But mine opens in the middle so it's difficult to empty. One that opens at the end would be much easier!

I used wood pellets and put it in the compost.

FrostythefeckinSnowman · 25/11/2019 18:08

I use the wood pellets and burn it (together with the poo) in the wood burning stove. I have a metal bucket with a lid at the side of the stove and chuck in a few scoops during the evening. As long as the stove is already lit and hit, it burns easily.
Because the stove door is closed, there's no smell.
In the summer months, I just bury it in the garden. I have a big garden surrounded by fields so it won't bother anyone else.

Thanks all.

The cat poo these cats are producing is astonishingly unpleasant. Is that a wet food thing? My old cat was dry food only and her poo was dry and scent less (to me, anyway.) These two lay the filthiest turns.

Mine eat wet food and grain free biscuits given after supper (plenty water)

It has really helped with their odour Smile

Though I am always aware of one of them hovering about when I clean the tray , just waiting to get in there !
