So I'm about to purchase a cat GrinI'm soooo excited. This is going to be the first time having a cat since I was a kid so I'm a little nervous. I've seen a beautiful 9 month old that I'm going to arrange to meet but I wanted a check list of this to ask to be sure I've got all the details and making the right decision on this cat. Although I'm sure I'll know as I'll fall in love as soon as I clap eyes on her.

She's an indoor cat advertised as vaccinated chipped and de wormed/de flea
Thank you

Where are you buying her from?

BovaryX · 02/11/2019 06:25

Hi,
Just wanted to ask, why would purchase a cat when there are so many in shelters who really need a loving home?

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 06:39

If it's off gumtree or pets4homew make sure you have prof that she's been spayed. And get the vaccination certificates. Also find out why they are rehoming. Buying from
These sites encourages backyard breeding. I agree with a PP. loads of lovely cats in rescues .

If this isn’t though a shelter and you are determined to go this route, the most important thing to find out is why she is being rehomed.

You need to know her history - has she been spayed, could she be pregnant. How many homes has been in.

What food is she eating.

It says that she is chipped, spaded and up to date on vacs, but yes I shall ask for all the paperwork to confirm.
Apparently the elder cat is not getting in with her. Is this cat code for something else? I'll probably go to met her tomorrow.
She is not with her mother and the seller is not a breeder.

Do you know where the seller got her from? Reputable breeders and rehoming charities will always take a cat back if there are issues, most often there is something written into the contract to ensure they are not privately rehomed but are returned.

How much are you paying? Is she a pedigree (or sold as such)?
