Today has rained , the cats have been out and in, leaving teeny wet pawprints on the laminate (that's not the rank bit....)

Female cat has brought in 2 earthworms and Male cat 1 earthworm

Live
Dumped on the kitchen floor
Probably because of the rain they're near the surface .

As far as presents go , I am ver' ver' ungrateful ! Grin

I got two live skinks (similar to geckos) which proceeded to run under the furniture, losing their tails along they way. Do I win? Grin

They were accompanied by meowing which I think translated as "Look mum, I brought you a snack! But first I want to play with it..." Wink

StrawberryFizz26 · 02/11/2019 02:37

I've moved a mouse head, a live bird & chased the tabby one out with a mouse!!
All this evening..

Heck Yes ! Grin

Our previous cat used to leave us a dead fieldmouse (the tiny ones about an inch long) beside the toaster . Never a mark on them except spit.
Sparrow parts . She ate the belly and left us heads, legs, the odd wing or two.

Our new cats started with moths and crane flies, dragonflies a snail.
Male brings in feathers

Now they/ve upped their game Grin

Wolfiefan · 02/11/2019 09:32

You’re clearly supposed to toast fieldmice before eating them then. Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/11/2019 16:41

Yes , I think so Grin
It was a routine , one every morning , left neatly by the toaster . I reckon they'd get stuck and I'd come to grief fishing it out (you know , like in 'Casualty' where someones is Oh a bit of bead is stuck, I'll just poke it out with a metal knife ............

Latest offer today - large , live , folded up spider . Rescue'n'release .

Better than earthworms though Wink

Our dcat once tried to get a dead seagull in the cat flap.
Very noisey!!

Normaknowall · 03/11/2019 00:27

Mine tried to get a pigeon through the flap once. Mostly though it's mice and rats. This time of year it's every night, sometimes twice. He plays with them and then eats them, it's like he strolls in about 9.30 with his kitty kebab and leaves the salad equivalent (tail and bits). We have wet wipes in the hall all the time now. Sigh. Cat.

Kaleidoscope93 · 03/11/2019 00:41

You’re lucky! Mine regularly brings in live bats and then releases them. Thus resulting in 30-60 mins of us trying to catch it whilst it whizzes around in circles and the dog and cat flinging themselves around the room to try and get it Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/11/2019 08:35

Spiders are better than worms? Seriously? What planet are you from? :)

Nonstopbuttmachine · 03/11/2019 11:58

@violetbunny euww I used to have the tail-less lizard thing, no geckoes though thankfully.

Dcat3 was gleefully playing with a snake outside a few weeks ago, an hour before guests were due to arrive for lunch. I was dreading her running into the house mid-lunch all 'Ta da! You're welcome!' with the snake dangling from her mouth Grin

Eurgh, thanks cats ,that is gross
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/11/2019 18:58

Another earthworm (or it might be the same one re-caught ? ) . I put them out in the front garden, cats don't go there and I CBA unlocking the back door .
They tanked in, placed it on the floor and danced about. Don't know which one was the guilty party .

Nonstop I love the expression on your cat's face Yes , see what I have felled and dragged in. Revere me .

Yet spiders are infinitely better than earthworms . I will happily scoop a spider out the bath with my bare hand . Worms , I'm shrieking like a banshee and demanding a bit of card. Blush

With such live entertainment who needs the tv????!!!

Kaleidoscope93 · 05/11/2019 09:37

@Deathraystare Grin not so entertaining at 3am

violetbunny · 05/11/2019 10:11

Today when I got home, I discovered that I had been left a delicious snack on the bedroom carpet consisting of exactly one and a third skinks (lizardy creatures).

Just before I went to bed I found the other two-thirds of the skink under the bath mat. Still alive too EnvySad

thetardis · 05/11/2019 10:19

yesterday's rat was a) dead and b) outside so i could leave it for dp when he got home. so cat goes up in my estimation :D

Deux · 06/11/2019 17:45

One of mine brings in loads of worms. 5 in one evening is his record. Ugh. I encourage DC to deal with it as ‘you promised you’d help look after the cats’ 😅

His brother isn’t so fussed. He’s more in to frogs.

ithinkmycatistryingtokillme · 07/11/2019 18:34

The live blackbird in the bedroom was fun, took me and dd about an hour to get it out!

MrsMoastyToasty · 07/11/2019 18:37

I see your blackbird and raise you a decapitated squirrel.

Esmerelda1988 · 07/11/2019 18:37

I got half a pencil from my dear ginger monster once..very proud of it she was too. She also once arrived home with a piece of baguette.

Beamur · 07/11/2019 18:45

One at brought us a live mole and on another occasion an adult rabbit. Through cat flap. Unharmed but not pleased to be indoors.

QuietAndStill · 07/11/2019 18:51

My cat brought in A BAT on Halloween!! 😱

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/11/2019 18:54

A couple of fireworks , male cat came tearing in through the cat door .
............ he had a mahoosive earthworm

The first present our previous cat brought us was a live starling - in the catdoor , kitchen, hall , stairs, landing to our bedroom floor .

We put it in a box for a couple of hours then released it .

Our boy will not be content till he brings in a magpie .

I have had to rescue TWO squirrels this week from my ratbag serial killer cat. Thankfully in the garden because I don’t know how you’d go about rescuing them from inside the house. Mice I just scoop up in my hands and deposit back outside but squirrels are vicious little fucks and I prefer my fingers attached.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/11/2019 08:54

My cat brought in A BAT on Halloween!

I'd lock the catdoor on Christmas Eve , he'll bring you in a reindeer Xmas Grin

@70isaLimitNotaTarget 🤣
Half a rat in the hall. His Catness sitting on the cupboard with a "don't say I never cook" expression.
