Has anyone tried CBD treats / oil on their cats?.

Our 13 year old girl has always been a miserable cow, but is just getting older and more crotchety. She has slight arthritis in her back legs. She's been to the vet several times but apart from doping her constantly on Metacam there's not a lot we can do. She still runs and climbs (and fights) with the best of them, and still plays like a kitten sometimes.

Wondering if CBD would not only make her more comfortable but also chill her out and cheer her the fuck up a bit?

Sadly CBD won't cheer her up any, as the psychoactive part of cannabis is THC not CBD.

I would be wary of trying it on any pet as it hasn't been tested as being safe for animals and you can't assume that because it's safe for humans it will be for cats - there are plenty of things that we can eat that will make cats very ill like chocolate, onions etc.

Thanks @allergictoironing. I'm imagining her all blissed out getting the munchies 😂

Leopards don’t change their spots though.

Many, many years ago a friend had a cat who would steal his stash if he left it out. I once saw her actually fall off the ironing board one day she was so stoned! Grin

Metacam licensed analgesia medication for cats, with good quality clinical trials -doping.
CBD oil- untested, unlicensed - shall I give it a try.
Just think that through again.
