Can cats live on plain cooked meat?

My cats are notoriously picky eaters. The one food they eat most regularly is gourmet pate, but still go through phases of refusing and lots goes to waste. I have tried loads of different ones in the past.

They will go mad for plain cooked chicken though, so I do sometimes boil some separately when I'm doing a chicken based dish. I am now wondering if I should just start to feed them chicken (and turkey/beef etc) only?

I am struggling to find on google whether this is ok, a lot of results just say they can eat it but not whether it would be considered 'complete'. I know there are raw food brands in cat food, but not sure if there is anything that makes them a complete pet food or are they just meat? I see some brands with lots of added stuff that cats don't actually need (I'm sure I've seen green tea and seaweed in some brands), so it's hard to separate the necessary.

I know they need taurine, which
is found in meat anyway, but I could buy an dadd taurine to homecooked food too. Would this be ok?

They are just so picky with food, and tbh the pate they eat isn't the best anyway.

I haven't asked my vet yet as they only ever recommend dry food like Hills etc, which they won't eat plus I know 100% dry isn't the best option for all cats.

Morrisons sell the Blink pouches if you're near one. Our lad has had a few and liked them but he generally has Thrive. They do both look like actual meat albeit shredded. Vets tend to sell individual tins if you want to try before buying more.

I had a cat that would only eat cooked meat, and occasionally tuna. I spent years, and many ££ trying to find something she would eat ... to no avail.

To ensure that she got all the nutrition she needed I found a vitamin paste that she loved! It was called Nutrivit Plus, and she used to love licking it off my finger.

She lived until she was 20 Smile

I made burgers a couple of days ago - I don't usually cook, but despite that, my DTwatCats both remembered that the rules are to maintain a respectful distance and you'll occasionally get pinged cat boilies - mince rolled into marble sized balls.

They aren't particularly interested in human food as a rule, but cooking scraps are very exciting for them.

Luckily, both like grain free cat food, wet and dry, but if they started turning their noses up at that, I would probably give them mouse sized portions of a mixture of meat and offal plus a supplement, as it would be cheaper to give them that than go through the rigmarole of ordering different brands, only to find that the thing they devoured for three days has turned instantly to poison the moment I buy more than 3 tins/packs of it.
