Dealing with a diva cat

I have 2 cats. One is a total diva that needs medicating twice a day for her seizures. The other is a laid back boy who’s got into a scrap and needs medicating with anti-biopics and anti-inflammatory once daily. Both cats medication is in liquid form.

Laid back boy will happily sit still and accept 2 syringes of liquid meds and accepts strokes and praise for being a very brave boy.

Diva cat only needs a tiny!! amount of liquid meds but administering this has become a strategic operation requiring stealth, cunning and an iron battle of wills.

So far have used:-

Stealth ... meds whilst she’s dozing ... get a disgusted stare!

Disguise ... meds mixed with a tasty paste ... won’t eat this a stalks off with a disgusted stare!

Disguise and cunning ... meds mixed with tasty paste and cunningly smeared on front paws ... licks it off and gives me a disgusted stare!

Assertive bravery ... block all exits, approach, scruff and administer ... get a “you are killing me” stare!

Only another 10+ years of this to go.

You're getting away lightly! The common theme to her responses seems to be "disgusted stare", with the worst being "You are killing me" stare. I see no mention of blood, pain, sticking plasters or bandages, visits to the GP or even A&E..... Grin

@Allergictoironing good point! Maybe once she realises it’s going to be happening every day, twice a day she’ll ramp up her resistance. Might have to stock up my first aid kit Grin
