The litter tray

Our young lad is in hospital-hand hold needed

Came home from being out all day to a very poorly kitty. He was a bit sleepy before we went out today but I thought he was just tired. Got home to a few piles of vomit and a very lethargic cat. Took him to our vet (last appointment of the day) and poor lad is in a lot of pain. He sent us to the 24 hour hospital and he's been admitted for further investigations.
Vet not sure exactly what it may be. Pancreatitis was mentioned-went through that with our old girl. Anyway I have to wait for vet to call me.
Apologies for essay feeling worried about our little hooligan Sad

That's a lovely photo. If he has to stay in over the weekend maybe you could visit (if that's allowed)?

He's gorgeous.

I hope he's okay.

A continued handhold.

That is exactly what Snorg had. She did have a laparotomy because I'd had a new bed delivered the day before and I couldn't rule out that she'd eaten some of the packaging. (Would have been unlike her though)

She was on Morphine and Ketamine infusions as she was in so much pain. She was absolutely stoned! It was really surreal, because we use those drugs all the time at work. I wanted to take her to work and put her in a cot!

She was critical for a week but she survived against all the odds, and made a full recovery. So there is hope for your boy.

Thanks for the continued support everyone.
@Toddlerteaplease our dear old Vinocat had pancreatitis as part of her triaditis so as soon as the vet started going through things last night I was like ok "here we go"..... Luckily the liver results were all ok.
I'm hoping they don't need to do surgery if they suspect there is a foreign body in there.... He is only a baby at 2 which I'm hoping is in his favour to recover.
DD really wants to visit him but I'm not sure if we can or if it's the right thing to do. At least I know what they are doing to care for him now.

I treasured the cuddles I had with Snorg, particularly when she wasn't expected to survive. She stretched out and patted my face with a paw. Something she'd never done before or since. I somehow knew that she was comforted by my presence. I knew she was in the mend when she went to sleep with me stroking her head.

@Vinorosso74 ask the vets about visiting. We visited Ivy 3 times while she was in.

(I am taking posh biscuits in tomorrow to say thank you lol)

How is he today, Vino?

No news yet. Our usual vets will call me once they've had an update from the hospital. The hospital wanted to see how he responded to the adjusted treatment before making any decisions.
I'm going to ask about visiting as we could pop up tomorrow. We're supposed to be away on Mon and Tues nights which depends on how he is. DP and DD can still go; I could if he's still in hospital or can stay here/come back earlier so not sure what to do about that!

Don't they let you visit every day? My vets did. They were brilliant and accommodating my shift pattern.

Heard from our vet. His temp is a bit lower and his abdomen less painful. They are doing another ultrasound to check on the fluid level in the abdomen and any changes from yesterday. They still aren't ruling out a linear foreign body......
Our vet was unsure on the visitor policy at the hospital so I'll ask them when I speak to them.

Sounds positive.

After no contact from the hospital he's now at I called them. His notes said no fluid one the abdomen so he may be home tomorrow! If we've not heard anything by 2pm I need to call them. Still not overly impressed with them and communication but at least they have kept our practise informed during working hours and our vet has informed us but as soon as OOH comes in it is rubbish!!!
We were supposed to be away Mon and Tues night. I think DP and DD should still go and I'll look after the patient. Just one of those things.

I'd suggest a letter to the practice manager. They should be keeping you informed.

Fingers crossed he's home today.

He's home! He's currently mooching about the flat, tail in the air. Poor lad has a bald belly. We have 5 days of antibiotics and need to have a follow up at our regular vet in 3 days. Bill was less than I thought it may be which is good although insurance will cover that.
The vet called me exactly in the middle of the two hour time slot they said.
