Cat losing hair on legs?

We have an appointment with the vet this week but just thought I'd see if anyone has any ideas in the meantime.

Cat seems to be losing hair on back legs and some (but less) on front legs. Otherwise healthy and happy enough. No fleas that I've seen and she is treated every month. Has anyone else experienced this? Have attached picture

Can't see your pic, but one of my cats has this, has done for about 3.5 years. Vet adamant it's stress and overgrooming and while I do catch him licking there at times its taken me a long time to accept that, as it doesn't seem excessive.

My cat was like this, it was overgrooming due to stress.
We used a Feliway plug in, calming food, and most importantly, shooed off next doors cat from the garden.
I wondered at the time if the fur would ever grow back, but it did within a few months and he's fine now.

I think mumsnet is playing up today so not showing pics. She does seem to groom her legs mostly and nibbles sometimes too, but no other signs of stress, although I'm not sure I know what to look for in a cat! Thanks for the replies

Ours has this & seems to be the least dressed cat on earth. I'm at a bit of a loss what to do.

Mustbetimeforachange · 05/08/2019 16:31

stressed, mind you he's not dressed either

Common protein and/ or grain allergy.
My cat had this. Vets said variously overgrooming, stress, flea allergy.
I read online about food allergies in cats and switched to an uncommon protein based food (in our case, we used James Wellbeloved duck based food) - cleared it up over a few weeks. Of course it was overgrooming, but because the allergy was making her itchy.

Ah interesting about the food. Will take a look into that, thank you. Mustbe that made me chuckle Grin
