Hi all,

I recently brought home my beautiful blue boy. He's adorable and usually really well behaved. Uses scratch posts, was using the litter box from day one! Smart little lad. Recently though, he's had two mishaps. A poo on my bed and a wee this morning. I'm so confused because his litter box is clean, he knows how to use it (and normally does) it isn't far away...i can't detect any signs of stress, he's adjusted very well. Is this normal behaviour for a kitty? I'm worried he's now developing this as a habit. Please help!!

Which litter are you using?.

KittyKutie · 23/07/2019 17:10

Hi Fluffycloud, I;m currently using the litter the breeder had him on which is Breeders Celect. I only picked him up Friday just gone so don't want to start changing little just yet but he seems absolutely fine with it normally. I'm happy with it until he's older and i can switch to clumping. I'm just so confused by his behaviour and feeling slightly overwhelmed at the moment :(

Try this kitten litter

Nice small granules are easy on paws.

I use Bio Catolet. It's a little bit dearer that others but it's paper-based, dust-free and very absorbent.

Thanks guys, but i really don't think it's the litter. he has been using it just fine so wondering if these odd mishaps are normal behaviour for a kitten or might theres be something wrong in your opinions?

Mine never did when they were kittens. One of mine does leave me parcels every now and again, even when I've just cleaned out their litter trays. No idea why. They are spayed (I've read they can mark areas as they get older if they are not spayed/neutered).

Their like kids, they know they can get away with it at home. Ours uses wood chip in the cattery, but will wee on the walls if I try and use it at home.

They can be right little divas.

Mine suddenly started weeing on the bed when she had a uti.
Have you noticed any other changes in behaviour?
My girl was clearly struggling to wee and ended up doing lots of very tiny wees all over the place. She managed a full wee on my bed though - whilst I was in it!Confused
