Out beautiful 5 month old kitten escaped out of a window on Wednesday night and hasn't been seen since.
We miss him so much.

Please let me know your positive stories of cats who come back home. Please nothing sad as I can't deal with the thought at the moment. SadSadSad

Are you leaving food and water outside?

PurpleSweetPeas · 21/07/2019 18:44

Yep, food, water, cat tray, old cat litter scattered around the garden, dog crate covered over with his bed and fav toy.

The food had been eaten this morning but I think that was most likely another cat as his toy haven't moved and he normally carried it everywhere

After 10 days missing our dcat returned with his back leg badly broken.
Vet said us out shouting every night probably kept him going and gave him reason to make it home.
Lived happily with 3 legs!
Get out there op!

CharlieAlphaTango went missing.
He was found in a neighbour's garden over 5 weeks later looking emaciated. Took him about a month to get back to normal weight.

ListeningQuietly · 21/07/2019 20:43

TBH Compost cat never made it back to where she had lived before
but we reckoned she'd not eaten for weeks when I found her (she weighed about 2kg)
but with TLC she was fine for many months
cats are INCREDIBLY resilient.
Hang on in there

Thank you all. I suffer with anxiety and have had a totally awful few years.
We got Kylo (the wandering kitten) as a present for all of us getting this far. He was also a friend for my very healthy older cat. But within a month, older cat developed a tumour in his liver and had to be PTS. So then we had one cat again. The breeder we had Kylo off had another litter of a different colour so we thought we would push ourselves and get one if them to keep Kylo company.
Feeling a bit jinxed in all this.

Thank you everyone for posting positive stories. I just want him to come home now

Our indoor cat has no interest in going outside. She disappeared for a week. Came home moaning at us? As if we made her get stuck in somewhere

ilovemyrescuetortieandwhite · 23/07/2019 21:30

Just never give up hope. They're usually not that far from home. Go out very early/late at night when it's quiet and call him and shake treats bag. Be persistent. Leaflet everywhere.

Tell all vets, animal charities, put up posters, knock on doors, local radio, social media, mine returned after a few months "on the run". I was so happy as I cried myself to sleep each night without them. Sending good thoughts for a safe return. Smile

StealthPussy · 24/07/2019 19:42

Fingers crossed for you purple. Our 6 year old female has been gone for 10 days. She often goes for up to 5 days. But never this long. The neighbours who she often visits and gets fed at haven’t seen her either. We have postered, leafleted, social media, cat charities, vet checked, been out calling her at night etc. Reading some of these stories has given me some hope.

PurpleSweetPeas · 24/07/2019 21:15

He's home!
Got a call from Cats Protection earlier to say they had just been on a call out and scanned him. Definitely our cat.
I went straight and got him from the lovely people who had looked after him for a few days. He had travelled about 2 miles and crossed a major river.

I had nearly given up all hope of seeing him again.
Do not give up @StealthPussy.
This was an indoor cat with no experience of being outside. Fingers crossed yours does not keep you waiting much longer.

That’s great Purple! Will you get him neutered sooner rather than later now?

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/07/2019 21:28

He must’ve got in a car or van to get over a river. I’m so glad you got him back Purple. His balls look ready to come off ✂️

We just need your cat to come home Stealth.

StealthPussy · 24/07/2019 21:36

Wow that’s brill! Amazed by how far he went! This gives me hope.

PurpleSweetPeas · 24/07/2019 21:46

Yes they do look rather large on that photo. All the vets around here neuter at 6 months and if I'm honest I hadn't thought that it should be any different. He was always going to be neutered. As beautiful as he is the world does not need more kittens

PurpleSweetPeas · 24/07/2019 21:47

@Fluffycloudland77 there is a bridge we would have crossed and the most likely option but I'm still amazed!

OP posts:
ListeningQuietly · 24/07/2019 21:49

Ah yes, time to neuter as he was roaming, not getting lost Smile

phoneinbag · 25/07/2019 14:03

Oh I am so thrilled for you!
Many times I have roamed the streets looking for our cats.
What a wonderful success story!! Hooray

Nonstopbuttmachine · 25/07/2019 17:47

OP I'm so happy for you! 😻😻😻 Little bugger!

Get those balls chopped right off though ✂️✂️✂️

EB100 · 25/07/2019 18:09

Oh that is great news.
