Cheddar is such a fidget. She doesn't sit still for more than five seconds. I'm
Sure she does it deliberately, the smug look on her face says it all

Mine are the opposite - They are so static I sometimes prod them to check they are still alive. Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 29/05/2019 19:35

Snorg has been prodded a few times to check if she's still breathing. She fits the vets description of a beanbag or a cushion that breathes!

Ours is funny. He is a lively fella but once he's in a deep sleep that's it he is properly out for the count (well until he hears something like food). He can sit still better than my 9yo human DD tho!

LadyBahBahBah · 29/05/2019 21:48

That is one very fugly cat

AnneElliott · 29/05/2019 22:03

I have a nutty one that never sits still ( thankfully sleeps at night) and two others who can spend the day in the same position!

Toddlerteaplease · 29/05/2019 22:33

@LadyBahBahBah she's an acquired taste to some people. But she's absolutely beautiful! She's got huge amber eyes, and a very loud voice!

@AnneElliott unfortunately she doesn't sleep at night. She comes and climbs all over me. And because she can't sit still I can't ignore her!

Mine is the opposite. She never moves unless I have food lol

agnurse · 30/05/2019 00:28

She is gorgeous! I love smushed-face dogs and cats!

Ours are usually pretty good at sitting still with a few exceptions. If Jayda comes to see me at night she has to crawl all over me. IDK why she can't sit still. Biggie is very good if he knows you're asleep or going to sleep. He will find a quiet spot on the end of the bed and curl up nicely. But if he knows you're awake, he will climb on top of you and purr for attention. Gatsby is also very good if he knows you're going to sleep, but in the morning, he knows that when the alarm goes off he gets attention. So he comes for that. When he was a kitten, he used to wake me up early begging for attention, but he learned that if the alarm didn't go off he got nothing. So now he waits for me to get up to use the bathroom or for the alarm to go off, and THEN he comes for a stroke Grin

HoppityChicken · 30/05/2019 00:30

Gorgeous!!!! Look at that face.

agnurse · 30/05/2019 03:52

I once read something where a dog owner said her dog was outside on the lawn doing his impression of side of beef in a coma.

Sometimes when Biggie stretches out Hubby or I will say he is doing his impression of a dead side of beef Grin

It sounds as if Snorg is particularly fond of doing an impression of a dead side of beef. Or a rock, I suppose, depending on how she sleeps.

mimibunz · 30/05/2019 04:46

There’s no such thing as a ‘fugly’ cat! Hmm Snog is beautiful, but I know what you mean about never sitting still! The Bunz tends to be restless when I’m home, following me around, shouting at my DH for head scratches. I wouldn’t be without him.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/05/2019 09:25

I would never dream of calling any cat fugly, but...

I confess I prefer cats that look like cats and which haven't had the introduction of life and health limiting genetic problems from inbreeding by so called 'responsible' breeders.
Persians, Ragdolls, Scottish Folds, Munchkins, Sphinxes - it's like the Island of Doctor Moreau. (and don't get me started on dog breeders!).
None of these breeds have been produced for the benefit of the animals - it's all about the owners and profit.

Give me a moggy anyday.

Rant over.

Toddler - you know this isn't a go at you - I know yours are rescues. Smile

Haven’t seen a cat that has hit a wall at speed before.
Still cute in her own way though

AnneElliott · 30/05/2019 09:42

She is so beautiful op! Bet she's got a lovely meow too!

madcatladyforever · 30/05/2019 09:55

My 18 year old follows me all over the house constantly she has hyperthyroidism so can be quite restless. But she does go off into REM sleep very quickly when she is sitting next to me. She lies there twitching and running in her sleep it's really cute.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/05/2019 10:05

Snorg and Cheddar are both gorgeous. Cheddar looks her best with her lovely eyes open.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 30/05/2019 10:22

Are you sure she's a cat? Ours have always excelled at doing absolutely bloody nothing for lengthy periods of time. One is very active when she's awake, and constantly shrieks like a fishwife, despite being very dainty and dressed in impeccable white elbow length evening gloves at all times, but still stays completely still for 20 hours a day. I suspect the other of actually being a very hairy cushion.

timperley · 30/05/2019 12:44

Chester is frequently incapable of moving, altho when he does, he can sometimes break into a canter....

mimibunz · 30/05/2019 12:49

Maryjoyce you suck

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/05/2019 12:54

Chester looks like he's has a hard day!

Toddlerteaplease · 30/05/2019 13:29

The little madam was climbing all over me at 2am. I did get quite annoyed with her constant fidgeting.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 30/05/2019 18:12

Chester actually appears to be a hairy building, not a cat. He must be a fearsome sight when he gets the canter going!

Toddlerteaplease · 31/05/2019 17:55

Typical. I found her a toy I thought she'd like. She looked at it with interest but won't move to play with it!

OP posts:
agnurse · 31/05/2019 18:06

Some cats do not care for toys. Biggie doesn't play much with toys unless there is string. He thinks every piece of string is automatically his personal property.

Froggie, my cat who I had before I was married, did not play either. I'm not sure why. I was her toy, according to her.
