Cat getting a tooth out

Gingerkittykat · 29/05/2019 11:37

My baby broke his tooth last week and is getting it out today.

Dropping him off felt like leaving my DD for surgery, I can't believe how upset I am. I felt so guilty tricking him into thinking he was getting some wet food to grab him and put him into his box.

I'm freaking out something will go wrong.

I've got cat soup for him to eat afterwards, does anyone have any more tips for his recovery?

He'll be fine!

He'll be fine. He might not want food or might be famished - they're fickle. Leave him quietly when he comes home but naturally if he comes looking for attention make a big fuss. Several days of his favourite food and multiple cuddles. And don't forget to keep up with the painkillers etc. they'll give you.
DCat1 has had most of his teeth out (poor lad) and has survived multiple extractions. He gets whatever he wants afterwards!

He's fine. He was shaking like a leaf when we picked him up and is still very wobbly but seems reasonably happy.

He polished off a bowl of cat soup as soon as he got in, DD took advantage of his sleepiness to get a cuddle (he never sits on laps) and he is now asleep on his favourite fluffy blanket.

Awww poor baby. I had to take my 18 year old cat in for a back tooth out. Sadly she didn't recover from the anaesthetic well like your cat did. She was seriously ill and the vet advised me to have her PTS but I refused and did nurse kitty through it. She is fine now I'm happy to say.
