Blood tests or not?

Harry is due to have his vaccinations next month and I'm unsure whether to request blood tests as well.

We were told by his previous vet 2 years ago that he had early CKD and he has Ipakitine in his wet food and 6 months later his readings were back to normal. He has no symptoms, he's eating, drinking and using his tray regularly, he's not losing weight (he may have actually gained Blush and he's playing with his toys and being generally cute.

I'm reluctant to have blood tests done as, even if anything shows up (kidney or otherwise) we can't treat it. We can't pill him because of his jaw, he won't eat renal food and wouldn't take any of the other kidney meds. His new vet is pretty laid back and doesn't seem to want to do anything more than necessary.

I’m so pleased. Yay!!! Love handsome Harry.

The only slight negative is that Harry's remaining teeth have some tartar and he may need a dental in the future. I asked if he needed a dental now but the vet said no, there's no inflammation and it's not causing him discomfort so monitor him and see how he goes rather than give him yet another GA.

Bless him. I know there are issues. Would he tolerate the stuff you put on teeth once a week to protect them? I can check name!

I don't think he would to be honest. Going by the look on his face when the vet opened his mouth yesterday I think the teeth are off limits to us!

The nurses do dental checks but we'll probably take him back to see the vet as he knows the history with his heart. I'm reluctant to see anyone other than this particular vet (unless it's an emergency) as he knows his history and takes time to explain things to us properly. He's also accepted that Harry cannot have ketamine so he seems to listen to us as well.
