Would you use fence spikes??

I have 3 indoor cats but they do like to visit my garden. 2 of them are happy to mooch around the garden but the other one has learnt he can jump up the fence at a certain point. Now he goes straight for it every time! I wouldn’t mind too much but he can’t get back out of next doors garden as he’s not that good at jumping, plus they don’t want him there.

So I was thinking of putting some of those little spikes along the fence he can climb to put him off. I’m just worried it will hurt him if he attempts to jump? What would you do?

I definitely would not put spikes anywhere. Awful things.
Put him on a lead or get an outdoor run maybe?

No, of course not, they are horrible for cats and other animals out there.

Look into cat proofing your garden with fence top netting, such as the systems from Protectapet and Sanctuary SOS.

I’d catproof but never use fence spikes. It could cut his paws to ribbons.

No spikes.
As previous poster says there are angled fencing solutions to keep cats in a garden. Or you could put him on a harness possibly if he is outside with you.
Or you may just have to accept he is a wanderer.

I hadn’t thought of angled fencing, will have a look in to that idea instead.
I can’t acceot he is a wanderer, he’s a ragdoll. Although he is very intelligent I worry about his road safety.
