My cat is pooping In neighbours garden

I Just overheard two neighbours talking about me and my cat - it appears they strongly dislike us both, and my cat is pooing in their gardens.

They were laughing about one of their dogs attacking my little cat. I spoke up upand apologise for the cat (who is tiny and only ten months old). It has made me feel really uncomfortable.

I don’t want my cat pooing in their gardens - I understand it is a huge pain for them and I am genuinely sorry, I am looking into cat proofing my garden so she can’t get out. BUT they were really cruel - laughing about the dog attacking her. It will be a couple of weeks before I can cat proof the garden - she is used to roaming but should I keep her I side until the garden is car proofed?

I am worried they will hurt her.

Also I have live here for 15 years - there are loads of cats in the neighbourhood and over the years loads who have pooed my garden. While I know it’s annoying - I am not sure Ee how hey are certain all the poo is from my cat.

I'd be so worried I'd keep her in. Can you get a Catio or something similar? Sounds like you have nasty neighbours who wouldn't lift a finger if she was attacked again and wouldn't tell you anything if she mysteriously went missin. She's still young so should adapt to her roaming being restricted. Plenty of toys and attention!

Thanks - yes I think I will keep her inside. I am totally taken aback by how nasty they were.

One of them has a dog that barks for hours - I have never complained. Perhaps just two blokes showing off, but they must have realised I could hear them.

I still totallyunderstand how annoying it must be to have her poo in their garden - she has letter trays in the house, and I will be keeping her inside Until the garden is cat proofed.

Just taken aback by the cruelty. They really found the dog attacking her funny.

It's horrible OP. But you are doing the best thing please remember that if she gets cross at not going out. You are keeping her safe. She's only a baby still and they can be a bit wide eyed and daffy at that age...and vunerable. Hope you turn your garden in a Fort Knox for kitties Grin

Thanks Minnie’s. We have been working in the garden over easter and she has loved having us in the garden while she roams about. It was such a shock.

One of the neighbours is a bit of an arse ( complains about everything, but pumps loud music, has outdoor fire pit etc) but I thought the other was ok.

Feel really unwelcome here. And I was here first - their houses were owned by lovely old dears who both had cats. Unfortunately they passed away and the houses were renovated and sole to these arses!!

It's crap having neighbours sometimes! I have to say if any of mine threatened my cats I'd probably move. Am so very lucky they are all cat and dog lovers and we all tolerate/babysit each others pets. Nobody here cares who shits in whose garden Grin
We are very rural so a bit of poo isn't the end of the world!

I’m really glad you are going to cat proof your garden, it’s the safest thing for her and the nicest for the neighbours. I’m sorry your neighbours are so unpleasant but I wish more cat owners would behave like you. I’ve chased 2 cats out of our garden today and one particular one has chosen our fruit bed as it’s litter tray - my 2.5 year old DS had been digging and came to tell me there was cat poo, I removed a plant pot full, it’s revolting.

Dippypippy1980 · 20/04/2019 20:29

You are very lucky.

My neighbourhood used to be like that. I looked out for their cats and feed them for their owners, it was part of reason I got my own. But these new people seem awful.

She is still quite small, how can two adults laugh about a dog attacking her?

While pumping out sad middle aged music or is all to listen too. Sorry I am a bit annoyed

Dr why - I totally sympathies - and I don’t want my cat to poo in anyone’s garden.

But if there was an issue I wish they had spoken to me - rather than watch their dog attack a kitten.

I am keeping her until the cat proofing is done. Will be expensive but worth it.

I think there will still be cat poking their garden. There are at least four other cats Who I see regularly in my garden - but at least my little monster will be in the clear😺.

No excuse to allow any animal to get attacked

Yes, keep her in. They sound awful!

Minkies11 · 20/04/2019 20:36

I'd be fuming too. I understand people can get angry about poo in the garden but that's no excuse for the cruelty. One of my neighbours has 3 dogs who constantly shit all over her garden - she just laughed when I asked if my cats have ever pooed there and said she'd barely notice if they had! My cats prefer to do their business in the woods thankfully.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/04/2019 21:05

Bloody hell, that’s awful. I’d keep her in too.

Awful people 😾
