Can anyone recommend a good quality high calorie food for a kitten who needs feeding up after a bad bout of diarrhoea? Wet and/or dry? I've attached the obligatory kittie pic 😊

What are they on just now? If you change food you should do it gradually. Look on zooplus and/or pets at home to find better quality grain free foods

It's not necessarily the best time to introduce a new food if his tummy is still sensitive. You could feed plain boiled chicken breasts for a good quality, easily digestible protein.

But otherwise Nature's Menu or Lily's Kitchen kitten wet food is probably the most widely available (online), or something from ZooPlus such as Animonda Carny kitten.

We collected him at the weekend and he already had the diarrhoea. The owner said she'd been feeding him chicken and rice but I don't believe her. He's been at the vets all day and vet has advised high cal kitten food. I will ask vet what she'd recommend but there seems to be good advice on here too. I should say I did what everyone is told not to do and took him knowing he hadn't been looked after properly and he wasn't the age they said because I just couldn't leave him there.

Pets at home would have stuff you could start using straight away. They have a kitten food section

Beautiful girl ,I've a soft spot for tabbies !
All worming etc up to date ?
100% Grain free & high meat content, bet you see a difference quickly.
Look at the ingredients to see content as high price doesn't necessarily mean good

They have a good variety on zooplus, Nutro (only the dark green bag) wild freedom, purizon are good dry .

Animonda ,cosma & feringa are good wet but their a probably others too .

Whilst waiting for delivery,Lily's kitchen & Natures Menu can be bought at pets at home .

What a lovely little chap. How old is he?

I assume where he came from was feeding him chicken and rice as his tummy was upset. Do you know if his tummy was ok just after he started eating solids and what he had before that?

Whatever you chose, I'd say little and often. There's lots of calories dry, but I'd say wet would be better as it'll help with any dehydration caused by tummy upset.

Applaws do a chicken kitten food. Iirc pets at home sell it but you can also get it on the likes of zooplus
