Flea treatment for multi-resistant areas?

Until recently I've had really good results from monthly Advocat treatments for my cat but it no longer seems to work. What should I try next?

I'm not sure if it's the huge amounts of strays, foxes or squirrels in our neighbourhood but our cat seems to get constantly reinfected. I'm hoovering the carpets and sofa daily at the moment and still getting bitten

Are you treating the house too as most fleas are in the carpets, soft furnishings, etc. rather than the cat itself? Indorex is supposed to be good for that

I've never had to use a chemical treatment on the house before as the monthly treatment of the cat alone kept things clear. The reviews of Indorex look great on Amazon - thanks I'll give this a try.

Will I just have to repeat treat the house frequently? I'm a bit wary of using lots of strong chemicals on carpet etc as there are little kids in the house constantly playing in the carpet and licking everything.

Are there monster multi-resistant fleas in London? Frontline used to work for us then stopped, then Advantage, and now Advocat. So frustrating!

Advocate has the same flea treatment component as advantage (the only difference is that advocate treats some worms too). The problem will be when it is a big infestation as they have to jump on the cat first before they get killed. I think Indorex covers for several months

My cats get stronghold plus monthly

You could try bravecto or a seresto collar. Not sure if they have the same active ingredient as Advocate though.

We use Advocate at the (London based) cat rescue where I volunteer and haven't had issues. I also use it on my own cats.

It's more likely you are getting bitten because there are fleas in the house. Indorex will stay effective for several months so you won't have to do it constantly. I think there was a bigger flea problem last summer because of the crazy hot weather so perhaps that's why you're seeing more fleas than you ever did before?

Thanks I'll try the indorex tomorrow
