Cat hiding after house move

My DCat, who has always been quite nervous, has been hiding in my kitchen since I brought her here last Sunday. She wasn't happy when she got here, wouldn't come out of the cat basket at first then came out and hid on the dining room chairs. From there she vanished while I was in a different room, I suspect under the kickboards, and I haven't seen her since. She's eating and drinking a bit, but not using her litter tray. I've got a Feliway plug in, I've put some smelly food to try to tempt her out and I've tried shaking treats. Is there anything I can do or do I just need to wait it out? Thanks!

Leave her too it. One of mine hid for 8 days when I first adopted her. She was terrified. She'd come out after dark.

Give her time. Cats are territorial creatures of habit. Some find moving house terrifying. Don't chase her down; wait for her to come to you in her own good time. Leave her fresh water, and litter and don't let her out yet. It may take a week or two, but she will come to you eventually.

Thanks both, that's reassuring. I was worried she wasn't eating or drinking, but she is so I'm a bit happier. I saw an eye glinting the other night but would be nice to see the rest of her! Should I be worried about the litter tray non usage? I've moved it a bit closer to her hidey hole to encourage her to use it.

It's recommended to keep cats in one room for a few days after a move to get them used to the new environment, same as when you first adopt a new cat.

If she's been there for a week now, she must be toileting somewhere...

She's been in the kitchen diner (all one room) since I brought her here. I'm a bit concerned about the toileting but will only be able to tell (can't smell anything) by removing the kickboards and freaking her out even more!
