Help, I am worried that my cat may have been inadvertantly been given an overdose of vitamin D.
I had a friends and her seven year old daughter here this morning, and she was playing with our ten year old cat. unbeknown to me she had also got hold of a vitamin D supplement spray, and I think she has sprayed the cat's mouth with it - the cat smells of mint. Anyway, each dose (ie one spray) is 3000 international units. or 75 ug, and I am now terrified the cat is going to die as there are all sorts of horror stories online as to the toxicity of Vit D to cats.
Am trying to get hold of my vet but on hold, meanwhile has anyone any advice? am i worrying unnecessarily?
