Snorg has got the squits. She stinks!!! Can't get her to the vet until Wednesday for a hygiene trim as am on nights. Bum wiping has not gone down well!! Good job she's gorgeous!

Another downside is keeping their coat free of matted bits. I have finally found a groomer that might be able to something with him but I have to travel 20 minutes to get to them

Agree re squits. We pin Large Dim Cat down and wipe with wet wipes or an old damp towel. The vet does bum trimming periodically to keep him clean.

Also, clagnuts/dangleberries.

I had a brilliant one who came to the house. But she moved out of area. I've tried a couple but they aren't as good. The last one charged £50 and wouldn't let me stay with her. So it wasn't till I got home that I realised she hadn't taken as much off her back end as I'd have liked. Hence why I'm a bit irritated about her being smelly.
But she's just the loveliest cat so she's worth the smell!

I tried water wipes but as it was still wet. It didn't work. Didn't want to try too hard as had my work uniform on and I can't go into work smelling off cat poo! Also had to give her her eye drops, so had to pick my battles!!

I have got small round ended scissors that are for small animal grooming so have been known to cut bits off mine especially if things are stuck in his fur (like slugs Envy)

Oo thanks for the link. I'll definitely get some of. Those. I've been wary of using scissors since cutting Fatty's neck.

Wasn't the fridge a bit cold for her?!

It may be a little drastic, and quite costly, but it works - move next door to a house with a garden full of 5ft high brambles. Our Persian cross self-groomed for years Wink

Then new owners moved in and her coat went to rats again...

dementedpixie · 18/02/2019 22:50

He has a habit of going in cupboards and where the veg drawer would be in the fridge! Had to evict him to put the drawer back

Toddlerteaplease · 19/02/2019 05:55

@WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo I'm looking to buy a house. Not sure the brambles idea would work, she'd just bring the garden in with her!

Got home from work and she's got huge lumps stuck to her. She's leaving skid marks all over the house. She stinks!! Currently at the vets waiting for a bum shave. ConfusedEnvy(not envy)

Oh it's disgusting isn't it, out long haired has a sensitive stomach and the squits is common here (yeurgh!).

Thankfully cat is very placid and allows DH to use cat shampoo and shower head to soap & clean him!

I don't have the stomach for it so I do the towel dry and brush. Better than the stink and skid marks though Sad

Toddlerteaplease · 19/02/2019 13:52

£28!! I almost fell over. It's only £30 at the groomers for the full works. Fortunately she smells better. Now just to clean the house!

Magic is also very placid, but this was a two person job!
