I'd appreciate some advice please. I have two cats aged 9 and 10 years old. They've always been happy, healthy and are much loved family pets. They've also both been vaccinated from being kittens, including leukaemia, and have always had their annual boosters.
Now my partner has been made redundant and we're struggling for the first time financially. I'm a month late getting my cats boosters done, and was getting worried, so I read a bit online about the risk I'm taking. There seems to be a school of thought that cats don't even need boosters, in the same way that humans don't need annual boosters. You get the vaccine and you're immune. No need to top up.
What are you thoughts on this? My older cat always loses weight after the booster and is very skittish for some weeks. It's occurred to me before that these jobs don't agree with him, but reasoned that it was the lesser of two evils.
I'm in the UK, if that makes any difference.
Thanks.
