Cat peeing only once in 36 hours

I have a rescue cat. Had her 3 years. Very nervy but will go out to back garden and she poos /wees outside.

I’ve noticed in winter she won’t go out much but now she hasn’t been out for 36 hours. I’m worried about her peeing as she’s not doing anything indoors.

Is this a problem? She is drinking and eating normally.
I’m worried about her.

Just want my mind put at rest. She seems happy in herself otherwise.

Does she have a litter tray indoors?

Does she have a litter tray? She should have one for this sort of thing.

She's probably doing it somewhere if you don't.

No she goes outside. Has done for last two years.

She’s always been nervous (we took her at about 9 months). Lots of cats around and she’s wary so she goes out back. She prefers to go out at night.

Worried about her kidneys. She’s due her annual jabs in the next few weeks so want to bring this up with vet.

She’s never been the greatest eater. She eats mainly at night but does drink throughout the day.

I got for my ds to help him settle in new area. He adores her and I’m just worried.

In the summer we leave back door out for her and she’s in and it all day. Winter she’ll go out but takes coaxing. Worried that perhaps she’s not peeing. She shits in out back garden.

I would take her to the vet for a check up - not peeing can be a sign of kidney problems. This can be very easily checked with blood tests and treated, but the earlier the better. Hopefully it isn't that, but a check up would give you peace of mind.

Thank you - I’ll try and bring that appointment forward. Just want a bit of peace of mind.

Get a litter tray as a matter of urgency.
Your cat may well want to pee but is holding it in because they don't want to go outside as it's too cold for them.

Ok will get the litter tray back out but it’s not been particularly cold where I am. But would be good to see a bit of peeing evidence. But also getting that vet appointment brought forward.

Thanks for advice - my last cat was so the opposite in every sense and lived till 22 without vet intervention.

I feel like a newbie with this little bundle of vulnerability. Thank you.

My cat hates the winter, it’s the only time he will use a tray. I would definitely give him the option.

My cat hates using the tray and only does when she has to. She prefers outside but finds herself in a bit of a conundrum when it’s cold and she doesn’t want to do out. I have noticed that she generally ones pees once every 24hrs during the winter (tray is unused and she last went outdoors at lunchtime yesterday for example).

Worth asking the vet though and yes def get the tray back out.
