Food recommendations with flakes/chunks please

My two came to me on Felix pouches which they still eat. I've been trialling a few other options in the hope I can get them on a slightly better food, but without success.

I've tried three pate types which they'd totally refused to even try, so will rule those out.

I had some Royal Canin pouches in gravy which they eat but are expensive for what they are and probably not much better than Felix. They eat three boxes of Sainsburys grain free in jelly and went off it. I've tried them on Bozita, they'll eat some in sauce but not jelly. Can anyone recommend any other wet foods to try, flakes/chunks in jelly or gravy please. I don't mind if it's not top quality, however, would like to improve their diet.

Mine like gourmet perle/ gourmet solitaire. They used to eat Sheba too. They dont like pate style either

Applaws

dementedpixie · 18/01/2019 16:44

Most applaws wet food is complimentary so would need to be given with other complete foods

My cats have Felix pouches (ordinary, not AGAIL) & are in great health Grin

I have tried “better” food & they just pick at it. It’s really not bad quality if you look at the ingredients - no grain - the worst thing is a bit of sugar.

Pets at home do their own grain free food
Core, meowing heads, some applaws foods are complete, harrington but my cat hated it

Lilly's Kitchen is a reasonable one which lots if supermarkets.
Our lad has the Thrive wet which is actually proper chicken, fish etc and is a complete wet food. It's cheaper bought in bulk online which might not be ideal with fussy cats...

It's best to avoid the wet foods in jelly or gravy as that can damage the teeth (so the blurb on feeding from our vets says).

One of mine has Sheba fine flakes (pouches) and the other has Iams in gravy for dinner and in jelly for breakfast. Bowls normally empty.

Thrive - my cat love story the tuna, chicken and beef flavours.

It’s shredded meat for the chicken and chunks for the tuna. Beef is pieces.

James Wellbeloved. It’s one of the better brands, in that it’s grain free and sugar free. Not as high meat content as the premium brands, but I can’t get my cars to eat those. It’s loads better than whiskas, felix, Sheba etc so I console myself with that.
