Vets apt?

Dcat has become very moody, she's not going out (however is a fair weather girl & self imposes not going out in cold, wet & windy weather), she's eating & drinking fine, but she's not being as affectionate as normal & she's being slightly more fiesty than normal. Normally she playfully swipes but she's now attacking at times.

Am I right to think about a quick vet check just to make sure all is ok? I will admit to being a worrier so not sure if I'm just being over sensitive!

I would always get a change in behaviour checked out by a vet to be honest.

Vets booked for tomorrow. Better to be on the safe side. I'm sure she'll love me for the probable thermometer experience 😂😂

Hoping the vet can set your mind at rest. How old is your girl?

Lonecatwithkitten · 16/01/2019 14:39

Not going out and dramatic mood change definitely needs a Vet check. 90% of cats I see like this have a temperature.

Dancingfairydreams · 16/01/2019 15:17

She's 17months old. She's having moments when she's charging around like a loon but then just lays spread out on the floor. I feel she may have an infection (we had a mouth abcess last yeah & she was similar) I hate that she's taking herself away too :(

Oh bless. Make sure she can’t get out. I assume she’s vaccinated and spayed too.

Dancingfairydreams · 16/01/2019 16:30

Oh definitely spayed & fully up to date on vaccinations & flea & wormimg drops.

Just wondered if coming into season! Hope all goes well at the vets.

Bringbackthestripes · 16/01/2019 16:38

Mine is a bit like this at the moment, 2&a bit, but I have put it down to not going out as much due to the cold and wet. I think he’s a bit bored so wanting to play/attack & being a bit more feisty than usual but we have been playing more with toys to keep him active inside. He has also taken to sleeping in the spare room which he’s never done before, I wasn’t concerned, until I read your post, but he has his boosters booked for sat so maybe I will mention it.
Do let me know what your vet says, I hope it’s just cabin cleaver and nothing wrong.

Dancingfairydreams · 16/01/2019 18:31

Oops sorry didn't mean to worry you @bringbackthestripes. Mine is probably fine & I'm worrying over nothing! I'll report back tomorrow

Just back from the vets, she has a slight temperature so there is something going on somewhere but he couldn't see or find anything major. We've got some metacam so that should perk her up. She's not impressed with her trip out in the car or her vet experience (it wasn't the nice usual lady) so she's gone to hide for a bit now. Little diva

This is her before the grumpiness

Hope she is feeling much better soon, glad there seemed to be nothing major. My boy hates the car too.

She is gorgeous.

After all the worry, taking time off work to go to the vets, spending a reasonable amount of money before payday & cooking her some fresh chicken - because my baby is poorly - my silly bean is now charging around the garden with her cat friend as if nothing's ever been wrong! I think I've been well & truly played 🤦‍♀️

But I bet you’re so relieved! Wink
